Find out whether the setting blocks traffic only after a VPN connection fails, or whenever the VPN is disconnected. Use non-sensitive test traffic, and keep a way to recover normal connectivity. Repeat after app restart, sleep and network change. Record whether local-network devices remain accessible. Do not label a VPN leak-free from one successful check.
