Simple test of BandwagonHost special price annual VPS (Softbank, Osaka, Japan)

Didn't I buy a VPS with annual payment from BandwagonHost in September this year (click to view previous product information)? This package allows self-service migration between multiple nodes. I initially chose DC6, Los Angeles data center, CN2 GIA line when placing the order. I played with it for a few days and did a simple test (see the evaluation article). After that, I migrated to Softbank in Osaka, Japan and ignored it. The day before yesterday, this special annual payment package was restocked. By the way, I did a simple test on Softbank in Osaka, Japan and posted it here for your reference. After playing with it for a few days, I am ready to migrate to other nodes.

Host Configuration

Migration will not change the configuration of the host, and if you bring data, it will be completely migrated. The current package configuration is a single-core CPU, 512MB of memory, 10GB of SSD disk, 500GB of monthly traffic, and the CentOS7.X operating system is installed.

I just installed the web environment recently and started tinkering with it, so the uptime is only a few days.

Basic Tests

The screenshots of BandwagonHost's own KiwiVM management panel have been provided in the previous test, so I will not go into details here. It has everything it should have, with full functions and the additional function of self-service node migration.

IO/Bandwidth Test

FIO tested the disk read and write performance, as shown below.

Below is the bench one-click package test information, including IO and bandwidth, where the bandwidth test nodes include Europe, America, Asia and China.

In general, the bandwidth is sufficient, better than many VPS hosts I have. Now let’s do the speedtest Asia test.

Next, let’s take a look at streaming media unblocking.

Outbound routing test

First of all, China Telecom, the outbound route is CN2, and the line is excellent.

Next is China Unicom, AS4837 to Japan, in the three-network test, China Unicom may be inferior to China Telecom and China Mobile.

China Mobile is CMI's outbound route, with good latency and ample bandwidth. It is wise for China Mobile users to choose SoftBank.

Backhaul routing test

First use the one-click package to roughly test and understand the information of the return route, combined with the above outbound route, to move the round-trip CMI.

The following is some of the specific information of the backhaul nodes.

Latency Test

Through IPIP.NET's ping test on more than 300 nodes in China and Asia, combined with the routing, in general, China Telecom/China Mobile are both okay, while China Unicom is slightly inferior.

In general, it is not recommended for China Unicom users to choose Softbank in Osaka, Japan. China Unicom has a better AS9929. I will migrate there to test it next time. Based on the evaluation on the Internet, Softbank is more suitable for mobile users, but my local telecom has been operating it for a while and it feels good. This package is indeed a bit low in configuration, but the network line and bandwidth are still impeccable, especially the ability to migrate to other nodes at any time is very convenient. However, the special package seems to be sold out again. If you need a regular package, you can refer to: https://www..net/31471.html.html
