According to Liu Yulin, in this year's Spring Festival Gala, the "5G+8K" ultra-high-definition live broadcast brought a new visual experience to the audience. In the future, 5G will be more widely used in cultural and tourism consumption, sports venues and other scenarios, such as 5G AR/VR (augmented reality/virtual reality) virtual digital museums, free perspective viewing, etc. During the Beijing Winter Olympics, 5G will also bring a different immersive experience.

In vertical industries, as 5G applications gradually penetrate, 5G will significantly improve the production efficiency of traditional industries. In the fields of energy, mining, ports, etc., 5G will help realize unmanned or less-manned engineering operations, effectively promoting enterprises to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

In the field of people's livelihood, the application of 5G in scenarios such as health care, urban governance, such as ambulances that allow patients to be admitted to the hospital as soon as they get on the car, and "butler-style" community security systems, will further enhance social governance capabilities and improve the level of people's livelihood services.

"In March, the proportion of 5G mobile phone shipments in the Chinese market has exceeded 76%, and it is estimated that the proportion of 5G mobile phone shipments in the second half of this year will reach about 80%," said Liu Liehong, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, at the meeting.
