Simple test of HostYun Australian data center AMD series VPS

Earlier this month, the blog shared information about HostYun's Australian VPS (a review of the past). The VPS in this data center uses an AMD5950x CPU, an M.2 SSD hard drive, provides 500-1000Mbps bandwidth ports, and a three-network connected AS9929 return line to China. How is HostYun's Australian VPS? I bought the lowest-spec version and did a simple test here for your reference.

It is recommended to view the complete product list in the member center after registering an account. VPS hosts are divided into 22 different series and computer rooms, and the list on the website homepage is incomplete.

Host Configuration

The host involved in this article is the minimum configuration model, with AMD Ryzen9 5950x single-core CPU, 512M memory, 10GB M.2 SSD disk, 500M network port, 1 independent IPv4, and the operating system is CentOS7.6.

Basic Tests

The VPS hosting provided by HostYun is based on the KVM architecture. VPS is activated instantly upon payment. The merchant has made significant improvements to the IDCsystem management system and added functions such as self-service IP change.

IO/Bandwidth Test

IO/bandwidth is tested using a one-click package. There are two one-click packages, one focusing on global testing and the other for domestic network speed testing. Let’s look at the first one first.

Below is the detailed test information of the three networks.

The node has limited IO, and multiple tests have shown that it is stable at 120MB/s+. This IO has fully met basic use and applications, and the Australian VPS bandwidth is also sufficient.

From the test, we can see that China Telecom, China Unicom and China Mobile all force AS9929 excellent lines to return to China.

Latency Test

In terms of latency, China Telecom and China Unicom are both very good, China Mobile is slightly higher, and my local telecom is also very stable in continuous testing. The VPS in the Australian data center is relatively unpopular in China. The high-end backhaul line plus large bandwidth and low latency ensure the access speed. Overall, it is better than the West Coast data center in the United States. It is a good choice for web site building or remote application.
