Leading products and fast delivery: H3C helps Jomtel Mexico cope with digital challenges

Currently, in the digital trend sweeping the world, many companies are facing a new hurdle in their exploration of digital transformation: as business continues to expand and deepen, the amount of data is growing exponentially, placing more stringent requirements on network bandwidth, data processing, and operation and maintenance capabilities. The infrastructure inherited from the Internet era has begun to "be unable to cope with the situation."

How to build an ICT foundation that adapts to the current and next-generation digital technologies and complete the digital "intergenerational transition" is a top priority for many companies. Recently, New H3C Group, a subsidiary of Tsinghua Unigroup, won the bid for the ATIZAPAN C2 vehicle image acquisition and processing system project of JOMTEL TELECOMUNICACIONES, Mexico, and completed the delivery, commissioning and installation of multiple high-end servers, switches and other equipment within three months, helping Jomtel's new system to go online in a timely manner, providing strong support for Mexico to promote the digitalization of traffic management, combat dangerous driving, and ensure national safety.

New Problems for Large Wireless Communication Companies: How to Achieve a “Generational Leap”

It is understood that Jomtel has been deeply involved in the field of wireless communication integration in Mexico for 25 years, mainly serving local government departments and private enterprises. Its business covers the design, sales, installation and maintenance of security systems, wireless communications and visual signal systems. The automotive image acquisition and processing system is one of its benchmark products, and it has delivered more than 200 projects so far.

In layman's terms, automotive image acquisition and processing refers to real-time viewing, entry, playback, retrieval and storage of information such as faces and license plates. Automatic image recognition and alarms are performed through mobile Internet video surveillance to solve speeding problems and other potentially dangerous behaviors of drivers. This is an important direction for the digital transformation of traffic management.

However, since 2021, old and established companies like Jomtel have faced new problems: with the development of Mexico's economy, the improvement of urbanization levels, and the increase in car ownership, the information collected by traffic management departments has grown exponentially, and the sources and forms of data have become more diverse and complex. Traditional ICT equipment lacks computing power and is cumbersome to operate. Network operation and maintenance and security protection technologies are backward and cannot meet new traffic management needs.

Jomtel realized that in view of the current situation of Mexico's transportation development, building infrastructure and software systems that are compatible with the present and the future and completing the transition from the "Internet era" to the "digital era" is the key to business development. However, due to a series of problems such as the limited support capabilities of old suppliers and difficulties in global ICT delivery capabilities, the system "renewal" has been delayed.

With outstanding computing and network advantages, H3C provides the "optimal solution"

In order to upgrade the system as quickly as possible, Jomtel launched an open tender for the ATIZAPAN C2 vehicle image acquisition and processing system project. After months of rigorous testing and selection, H3C Group from China stood out. It not only went to the business front line many times and completed the testing within a week, but also delivered a report card that was better than other competitors.

It was revealed that the winning bid provided by H3C Group introduced two advanced devices, the H3C UniServer R4900 G5 server and the H3C S6520X switch.

In terms of data computing, the high hardware configuration of H3C UniServer R4900 G5 server brings strong performance to the increasing amount of data, allowing Jomtel to calmly cope with the data expansion caused by business expansion, and can also cover the management and analysis of structured, unstructured and semi-structured data, better cope with the current situation of diverse and complex data. At the same time, server operation and maintenance management has become more intelligent and convenient, and the advantages of visualization, multi-task parallelism, and multi-device compatibility have significantly reduced the complexity of operations, making Jomtel's employees more comfortable with back-end operations.

In terms of network management, the H3C S6520X switch equipment also brings operation and maintenance management into the "intelligent visual era". The network status and access devices are clear at a glance. At the same time, it has the advantage of high availability. Sufficient redundancy protection avoids the risk of "all business interruption due to problems in a single node". In addition, the networking is flexible, which is more convenient for the subsequent expansion and deepening of related businesses.

It is worth noting that Jomtel is also an outstanding member of the Latin American Security Association ALAS, which means higher requirements for information security. The solution provided by H3C Group includes hardware encryption capabilities such as message encryption and anti-tampering, providing more security protection for Jomtel to serve government departments.

Quickly complete project delivery, H3C ICT products "rush to help across the sea"

After winning the Jomtel ATIZAPAN C2 vehicle image acquisition and processing system project, H3C Mexico's representative office operated quickly, and even its headquarters mobilized resources at home and abroad to ensure supply. It successfully delivered three batches of 20 high-configuration servers in three months, helping Jomtel's new vehicle image acquisition and processing system to go online in a timely manner, laying the software and hardware foundation for the Mexican government to carry out modern traffic management.

It is reported that the H3C Mexico Representative Office was established not long ago and has won high recognition from many channels and customers including Jomtel, reflecting the overseas strategic concept of "channel priority and win-win cooperation". So far, H3C has established 12 overseas branches, certified more than 1,000 overseas partners, and more than 200 certified overseas service partners. Overseas service delivery can cover 135 countries, which has become the confidence of H3C's business going overseas.

H3C Group said that as the wave of digitalization is widely recognized in Mexico and the entire Latin American region, the demand for ICT infrastructure and software services will further explode. "H3C's winning of the Jomtel project bid has established a good start for more in-depth cooperation in the local area. In the future, it will further assist channels and customers in Latin America to accelerate the pace of digital transformation and help more people enjoy the benefits of technology in their work and life."
