On the morning of August 27, the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) released the 48th "Statistical Report on the Development of China's Internet". The report shows that as of June 2021, the total number of fixed Internet broadband access users of the three basic telecommunications companies has reached 510 million.

Among them, the number of fixed Internet broadband access users with access speeds of 100Mbps and above reached 466 million, accounting for 91.5% of the total number of users, an increase of 1.6 percentage points from December 2020;

Gigabit broadband has begun to explode. In December last year, there were only 6.4 million fixed Internet broadband access users with access speeds of 1000Mbps and above. In June this year, this number soared to 14.23 million, an increase of 122.3%, accounting for 30.1% of new fixed Internet broadband access users in 2021.

In terms of optical fiber, as of June 2021, the scale of fiber-optic access (FTTH/O39) users reached 480 million households, accounting for 94.1% of the total number of fixed Internet broadband access users, an increase of 0.2 percentage points from December 2020.

As of June 2021, the number of Internet users in my country reached 1.011 billion, an increase of 21.75 million from December 2020, and the Internet penetration rate reached 71.6%. One billion users have access to the Internet, forming the world's largest and most vibrant digital society.

Among them, the scale of rural netizens in my country is 297 million, accounting for 29.4% of the total netizens; the scale of urban netizens is 714 million, an increase of 34.04 million from December 2020, accounting for 70.6% of the total netizens.
