5G is integrated into thousands of industries, and mature commercial use still needs to achieve the following points

In recent years, 5G is undoubtedly the most popular intelligent technology. Compared with traditional 2G, 3G and 4G, 5G has the obvious characteristics of high speed, low latency and large capacity. It is not only the key to open people's smart and convenient life, but also the key to promote the transformation and upgrading of industrial intelligence. Based on this, countries are generally enthusiastic about the development of 5G and are actively deploying it.

Since South Korea took the lead in launching 5G commercial use in 2019, my country has followed suit and launched commercial use in June of the same year. Since then, relying on its own advantages in demand, market, and other aspects, as well as the support of policies and enterprises, 5G development has been advancing rapidly and achieved many results. For example, in terms of network development, industrial capabilities, and application innovation, my country is in the lead.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, my country has built more than 819,000 5G base stations, accounting for about 70% of the world's total; at the same time, the number of 5G mobile terminal user connections has reached 280 million, accounting for more than 80% of the world's total; the number of 5G standard essential patent declarations accounts for more than 38%, and there are more than 9,000 5G application innovation cases. my country's 5G has basically formed a system leading advantage.

Among them, in terms of detailed 5G applications, although my country has not yet achieved fully mature commercial development, it has explored many innovative commercial paths, and 5G has been continuously integrated into thousands of industries. At the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day Conference held on May 17, the exhibitions brought by many companies, including the three major operators, showed us rich application possibilities.

At the conference, China Telecom launched 5G cloud packages to meet the information consumption needs of individuals and families in multiple scenarios and build a digital life on the cloud. It is reported that 5G cloud packages break the communication service model of traditional packages based on traffic, voice and SMS as the basic structure, and realize a cloud for everyone and a cloud for every family. China Telecom's 5G+ cloud network integration empowers and injects intelligence into traditional industries.

China Unicom has taken 5G as a strategic driving force for development and demonstrated more than 300 5G lighthouse projects. In August last year, China Unicom launched 5G private network and dedicated line products. By focusing on key areas and key industries to build multiple 5G lighthouse projects, it has achieved commercialization in the enterprise field and greatly promoted the development of enterprise business.

In addition, China Mobile has fully implemented the "5G+" plan to promote the integration of 5G into various industries and serve the public, including the integration with transportation, electronics, communications, industrial Internet and many other industries. In general, my country's 5G applications have entered a new stage of comprehensive exploration and flourishing. With the continuous increase in innovative applications, the future commercialization is worth looking forward to.

However, it is not easy to achieve the final maturity of commercial use, and my country still needs to make efforts in many aspects. So, how to do it specifically? At the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day Conference, Liu Liehong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, put forward 5 suggestions, which are worth learning from and thinking about!

Liu Liehong proposed that if my country wants to maintain its 5G advantages and accelerate commercial maturity, it must first strengthen planning guidance and systematically promote the development of 5G applications; secondly, it must consolidate the industrial foundation, improve network supply capabilities, industrial innovation levels and security capabilities; thirdly, it must enrich integrated applications, expand key industry applications, and refine typical application scenarios; in addition, it must optimize the ecological environment, strengthen government overall coordination, and enhance market dynamism; strengthen international cooperation, and build a high-level open 5G system.
