The quarterly report shows that China Mobile had a total of 940 million customers in the first quarter, a decrease of 2.32 million from the end of 2020. In the first quarter, China Mobile had 189 million 5G package users, an increase of 13 million. It is reported that in the fourth quarter of last year, China Mobile's total number of users decreased by 4.26 million.

It is reported that the decrease in China Mobile users is mainly related to the diversion of number portability and 5G networks. The "Dual Gigabit" Network Coordinated Development Action Plan (2021-2023)" issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology shows that by the end of 2021, 5G networks will basically achieve coverage of areas above the county level and some key towns, and more than 600,000 new 5G base stations will be added.
