Will the next 5G data package be an “unlimited data package”?

Will the next 5G data package be an “unlimited data package”?

In the past two years, 4G unlimited data packages have been popular among the three major operators, China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom. Everyone should have experienced the pleasure of unlimited data.

[[359047]]

Unfortunately, the 4G unlimited data package was discontinued only two years after it was launched, partly because it was claimed to be paving the way for 5G.

So here comes the question: if the 4G unlimited data package is cancelled, will the mainstream 5G launch new unlimited data packages in the future?

The three major operators simultaneously cancelled their 4G unlimited data packages. Most people believed that they were cancelled because they were not profitable, and this is a fact.

The 4G unlimited data packages did bring a lot of user traffic to the operators, but from the overall data statistics, their main business revenue was still declining at that time.

In order to survive, they must stop losses in time.

In addition, the more important reason is that the operator's base stations are overloaded.

With the maturity of technology, my country's 4G base stations have already reached a scale of millions.

However, the number of existing mobile phone users is too large, and each base station has limited frequency resources. The base stations of various operators have long been operating at full capacity.

If these mobile phone users also use data to access the Internet for a long time, the operating pressure of the base stations will accumulate, slowing down the network speed and even causing the system to crash.

This is why sometimes the mobile phone signal is full but the network cannot be connected.

So, 4G unlimited data package, see you again if fate permits.

4G fails in the unlimited data mission, let alone 5G.

As 5G technology gradually becomes popular, the number of people using it is increasing, which means that more and more water is beginning to flow into the 5G base station pool.

However, 5G is not currently operating very well:

1. The total number of existing 5G base stations in China is far less than one-fifth of 4G base stations;

Second, the coverage of a single 5G base station is also not as good as that of a single 4G base station;

3. During operation, 5G networks require more frequency resource support from base stations.

In general, base station operation is not easy.

On this basis, if operators insist on launching 5G unlimited traffic packages and allow a large number of users to use 5G traffic to access the Internet for a long time, it will only bring greater operating burden to the base stations.

In addition, the so-called 4G unlimited traffic package has no limit on quantity but limited speed.

Once data usage exceeds 20G or 30G, the system will automatically slow down significantly, and the user experience will be greatly reduced.

During operation, 5G traffic is about 10 times that of 4G in terms of speed and scale.

If speed limit measures are also taken to relieve the pressure on base stations, where should the speed limit division point of traffic be?

50G? 80G? 100G? No one dares to draw a conclusion easily now, and no one dares to launch this package easily.

Therefore, we can infer that the hope for 5G unlimited data packages is still slim.

No one knows whether there will be one in the future, at least not in the short term.

But there is no need to worry too much.

Although 5G package charges are relatively expensive now, judging from the development history of 4G data charges, the price of data charges after 5G is expected to gradually decrease.

If you are not in a hurry to use 5G, you can wait and see.
