Xiao Zhanhong, Ecosystem Manager of Huawei Cloud and Computing Shenzhen Business Department, shared Huawei's corporate culture and unveiled the mystery of Huawei. Xiao Zhanhong said that as a leading global provider of ICT infrastructure and smart terminals, Huawei's vision is to bring the digital world to everyone, every family, and every organization, and build an intelligent world where everything is connected.

According to Xiao Zhanhong, Huawei is generally divided into four businesses, namely consumer business, carrier business, enterprise business, and cloud and computing business. Shi Junpu, Ecological Manager of Kunpeng Industry Source Innovation Center, gave a detailed introduction to Kunpeng Ecology at the meeting. Shi Junpu pointed out that as of now, in my country's IT industry, the underlying core technologies provided by domestic companies only account for 45% of the market, while 55% of the technical products are provided by foreign IT companies. This situation is very serious. We need to have our own chips, databases, operating systems, and eventually form a very complete industrial chain. Kunpeng is committed to turning the industry into a complete ecological chain, so it is called Kunpeng Ecology. The core of Kunpeng Ecology is Kunpeng processor and Ascend processor, and related infrastructure has been launched based on these products. Huawei is committed to creating an industrial layout of "one cloud, two wings, and dual engines" and building an open industrial ecology.

Shi Junpu said that Huawei's goal is to develop the Kunpeng industry steadily, work with the government, enterprises, and universities to innovate, lay a solid foundation in policy guidance, industry practice, and talent training, carry out innovation, and do a good job in industry. "On September 2, 2019, Shenzhen and Huawei signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement on Jointly Building a National Kunpeng Industry Demonstration Zone." Shi Junpu also said that our goal is to build Shenzhen into a national Kunpeng industry demonstration zone with a complete industrial ecology, leading core technologies, rich application scenarios, and strong industrial competitiveness. The goal of the Kunpeng Source Innovation Center is to become the first domestic Kunpeng industry support platform that meets the needs of the innovative development of emerging industries, to support the development of emerging industries, and to promote the transformation and upgrading of the Greater Bay Area industries. It is also an important platform for the digital transformation of traditional industries.

Provide comprehensive and efficient solutions

Kong Lingbin, senior solution architect of Huawei Cloud and Computing, shared the Kunpeng computing cloud platform solution, introduced the cloud platform and its industry trends, as well as the principles and architecture of Huawei's Kunpeng computing cloud platform solution. Kong Lingbin said that we are currently in the AI+5G+cloud era, which requires diverse computing power because there are more demands for GPUs and NPUs, and various IoT terminals have appeared on the end side. On the data center side, due to the development of AI, more artificial intelligence and big data applications have emerged.

Kong Lingbin introduced that in traditional industries and markets, mature and stable IaaS platforms are still built based on KVM technology. KVM has three major advantages: first, users can share physical resource servers through virtual machines, improving CPU memory and IO resource utilization; second, users can dynamically migrate between multiple physical machines through virtual machines, it supports load balancing, supports automatic fault isolation, and improves virtualization availability; third, physical resources are abstracted, users do not need to manage physical resources, and it is easy to deploy and manage.

In the Internet industry, a flexible, standardized, and lightweight PaaS platform based on Docker containerless construction has emerged. Docker has two advantages: first, it meets the needs of rapid launch of large-scale distributed applications in the form of independent microservices; second, it has higher performance and higher concurrency, and can deliver to users faster.

Kong Lingbin said that Kunpeng Cloud Platform supports open source OpenStack and KVM. In terms of computing virtualization, it uses open source Linux and KVM. Virtual machines are created at the upper layer for management, and network virtualization uses open source Linux. Kunpeng will tune each platform. Kunpeng also supports the Kubernetes+Docker cloud platform, which uses Kunpeng servers as the base. Virtualization and management planes can be seen at the upper layer, using K8S and Docker respectively. Kunpeng Cloud Platform has many advantages such as multi-core architecture, higher and more stable performance, smooth expansion, and hybrid deployment. It has been applied to many industries such as government, finance, and operators.

Gao Xiaopan, senior solution architect of Huawei Cloud and Computing, shared the "Huawei Kunpeng Computing Distributed Storage Solution", analyzing industry trends from three aspects: storage media, storage architecture, and application scenarios. Gao Xiaopan believes that from the perspective of storage market development trends, the changing trends in the storage market mainly include four aspects: hyper-convergence, distributed, all-flash, and converged storage. Gao Xiaopan said that distributed storage is showing a rapid market growth trend and has many advantages. Cloud storage has changed from proprietary equipment to general equipment, with simple management, low TCO, and support for large-scale linear expansion; emerging businesses, such as video, big data, and digital businesses, and traditional data are gradually transferred from offline to online. Distributed storage scenarios can be divided into hot data, warm data, and cold data according to the data dimension.

Why choose Kunpeng distributed storage? Gao Xiaopan emphasized that, first, it has high performance and is suitable for all-flash specific scenarios; second, it has smooth capacity expansion and supports hybrid deployment of Kunpeng and X86; third, it has hardware data compression, which provides higher storage performance and lower CPU occupancy based on Kunpeng hardware compression, thus improving storage utilization; fourth, it has a rich ecosystem, supports mainstream open source software and domestic commercial software, and does not involve the migration of upper-layer applications.

Qiu Shaojie, Solution Director of the Education Division of Shenzhen Xunfang Technology Co., Ltd., shared the "Education Application Practice Based on Kunpeng Cloud". Qiu Shaojie introduced that in the process of supporting the Kunpeng ecosystem, Huawei provided more technical standards and curriculum standards, and Xunfang Company transformed the relevant content into relevant teaching resources, including courseware, experimental environment scenarios, etc. Xunfang Company, Huawei, and Kunpeng Innovation Center jointly built a national Kunpeng talent ecosystem. Products such as training cloud were launched, allowing students to enjoy the Kunpeng-related teaching experimental environment directly through the cloud when learning. In addition, relevant offline training courses and Kunpeng application development competitions were carried out to promote Kunpeng's technology and industry, and allow students to master Kunpeng-related technologies and content better and faster.

Joint efforts to promote the development of Kunpeng industry

Li Chunmei from Huawei explained in detail the professional competency requirements and employment prospects under the Kunpeng ecosystem and CCF. "Computing is the driving force of the intelligent world. Kunpeng computing is general computing power, covering end-to-end industries. The reason why Huawei wants to do Kunpeng computing is that Huawei has a strong sense of crisis." Li Chunmei introduced that the Kunpeng computing industry has made efforts in the following three ways: First, 16 ecological innovation centers have been built across the country, cooperating with local governments and local enterprises, and then migrating the Kunpeng industry to localization; second, empowering developers through the Kunpeng community, universities and partners, and it is expected to empower 300,000 Kunpeng developers by the end of this year; third, signing a strategic cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Education, opening 20 compulsory courses in the world's top 72 universities, and building an education base at the same time.

Li Chunmei said that the current computing industry has huge potential and talents are in great need, and excellent students are needed to join the industry.
