Tsinghua Unigroup's H3C wins China Mobile's 2020-2022 IPS centralized procurement project with the largest share

Recently, China Mobile announced the bidding results of the centralized procurement project for intrusion prevention system (IPS) equipment from 2020 to 2022. New H3C Group, a subsidiary of Tsinghua Unigroup, won the bid with a high share of 70% in both bidding sections. Winning the China Mobile IPS centralized procurement project with the largest share fully demonstrates China Mobile's affirmation and recognition of New H3C's security for many years, and once again consolidates New H3C's leading position in the security industry.

Since 2009, H3C's network security products have been selected for centralized procurement projects by China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom for many consecutive years. In 2019 alone, H3C won the centralized procurement of China Mobile's hardware firewall, China Mobile's intrusion prevention system (IPS) equipment, and China Mobile Information's 2019 IT cloud resource pool new project SDN system secondary centralized procurement. Based on more than a decade of security technology accumulation and precipitation, H3C has become one of the mainstream network security equipment suppliers in the operator market with its strong security capabilities and professional service system.

The equipment in this centralized procurement project will be deployed in core application scenarios such as mobile network cloud, mobile cloud, and private cloud. The scale of procurement is larger than in the past. Unlike previous years, China Mobile has added expansion capability tests on top of the original functions and performance indicators for intrusion prevention (IPS) products in this centralized procurement, requiring the equipment to have expansion capabilities of more than 200G. At the same time, functional tests such as network management capabilities, main control and switch board redundancy have been added, and higher requirements have been put forward for equipment reliability, scalability, and intelligence. Even in the face of such strict testing requirements, H3C Group still won the largest share in this centralized procurement project, and the excellent performance of intrusion prevention products was undoubtedly revealed. H3C Group's new generation of IPS frame-type high-end product T9000-E8, which passed the China Mobile centralized procurement test with high scores this time, uses a new generation of interface cards and fifth-generation security service modules, which can optimize hardware utilization and double the performance of a single card while reducing the size of a single card, which is in line with the business development direction of operators.
