At the online forum "How to 'accelerate' 5G in the context of resumption of work and production" held by Communication World All Media on February 28, Ding Haiyu, director of the Wireless and Terminal Technology Research Institute of China Mobile Research Institute, gave a detailed interpretation, allowing everyone to see clearly the planning and development context of China Mobile's 5G strategy. Specifically, China Mobile's 5G goal is to quickly deploy NAS in the early stage and achieve SA target networking in the middle and late stages. In terms of specific network construction strategies, outdoor coverage is still mainly based on macro base stations, and micro base stations are mainly used in scenarios such as lamp poles and street construction. Ding Haiyu said that China Mobile strives to achieve SA commercialization in the fourth quarter of this year. Since China Mobile is allocated 5G frequency bands of 2.6GHz and 4.9GHz, and 2.6GHz is also the frequency band currently used by 4G, China Mobile makes effective use of it and adopts 4/5G collaborative methods to more effectively improve network deployment. It is reported that China Mobile has launched 4/5G dual-mode base stations in conjunction with the industry, which can share machine frames and boards. In addition, flexible scheduling is also achieved in 4/5G shared frequency resources. In the initial stage, consideration is given to citing second-level, carrier-level, and semi-static methods, and in the later stage, more fine-grained dynamic spectrum sharing is considered. Of course, the key application of 5G is to launch various network slicing services based on scenarios under the premise of achieving deep coverage. China Mobile's plan for this is to adopt different solutions such as active distributed base stations and passive distributed systems in the network deep coverage strategy, mainly based on cost control. In terms of application initiatives, the strategy is to optimize collaboration and ensure service quality under the SA\NSA networking mode, including slicing, directional switching, NSA dedicated anchor points and other corresponding functions to effectively improve the probability of the entire user staying in the 5G network and the user's perception, and ensure the application of the existing network. In other words, NSA and SA networking will be deeply and effectively integrated and utilized, and it is not a simple replacement relationship, so NSA will continue to play an important role for a certain period of time. In terms of voice communication guarantee of 5G network, VoNR is not yet possible to be implemented. China Mobile will adopt VoLTE mode to carry voice services on 4G network, while data services will be directly carried by 5G network. It can be said that for a long time, 4G and 5G will coexist for a long time, and 4G network is the foundation. As of the end of January, China Mobile has built 74,000 5G base stations, and this year's goal is to reach a total of 300,000 5G base stations. China Mobile is absolutely confident about its future development. |
