Corporate social responsibility has always been an important part of Cisco's corporate culture and global business strategy. After the "5.12" Wenchuan earthquake, Cisco, with the strong support of the government and partners, immediately launched the "Thinking of Sichuan and Aid to Sichuan" aid project, with an investment of more than 300 million yuan, using Cisco's advanced information and communication technology to improve the medical and educational environment in Sichuan Province after the disaster. The "Thinking of Sichuan and Aid to Sichuan" project is not only one of the largest and most effective examples of the government and enterprises working together to promote the long-term development of the disaster area during the post-disaster reconstruction process, but also a model of friendly cooperation between China and the United States. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the "Thinking of Sichuan and Aid to Sichuan", Cisco specially invited two children who were assisted at that time to come to this event. Now they have grown into middle school students in their prime, as the experiencers and witnesses of the "Thinking of Sichuan and Aid to Sichuan" project, they shared their growth stories over the past ten years. The teachers and students of Beichuan Middle School also showed the participants the innovative design of the Internet of Things Maker Summer Camp, further reflecting the spirit of "World Internet Day" dedicated to promoting creativity and innovation.

This year is not only the 10th anniversary of Cisco's "Sichuan-Sichuan Aid" project, but also the 20th year of Cisco Networking Academy (referred to as "Cisco Networking Academy") entering China. As Cisco's largest and longest-running corporate social responsibility project, Cisco Networking Academy trains global problem-solving experts by teaching IT professional knowledge and skills, including the Internet of Things. Currently, Cisco has more than 800 active network academies in Greater China, covering all provinces in the country, providing training for thousands of teachers, with more than 170,000 students studying in network academies each year, and a total of more than 580,000 graduates. In 2017, Cisco and the Ministry of Education signed the "Memorandum of Cooperation on the Training of Digital Innovation Talents" in Beijing, planning to train no more than 400,000 digital innovation talents for China by 2020.

Cisco Global Vice President and Greater China CEO Xiao Jieyun said: "As early as 2012, Cisco explained the concept of 'Internet of Everything' and foresaw the broad prospects for the high development and application of the Internet of Things industry. It has been committed to continuous investment and innovation in the Internet of Things and other related fields. Cisco will continue to actively respond to China's national strategy, strengthen further cooperation with the government and educational institutions, cultivate high-quality professional talents for the future, promote the sustainable development of the Internet of Things industry, and work together to build a better world."
