Cisco Collaboration Renews Its Strength and Launches New Platform at Full Speed

Recently, Cisco Collaboration announced adjustments to its industry-leading intelligent platform. By integrating the powerful features of Spark and Webex, it launched a new Cisco Webex platform to help customers create a more intuitive way of working, improve employee engagement, achieve humanized teamwork, adapt to the operating mode of virtualized teams, and enhance the modernization of the workplace. This release marks Cisco's further implementation of its collaboration strategy:

  • Unified and open intelligent platform: Build an open, secure, and interoperable intelligent platform across the entire enterprise and its ecosystem.
  • Consistent core user experience: A consistent core user experience across Cisco devices and applications, regardless of the work mode.
  • A resounding brand name: Use a unified brand name to convey Cisco Webex, an integrated Cisco collaboration service solution.

Product innovation + AI technology, strong integration of resources***

The launch of the new Cisco Webex platform marks that Cisco Webex is no longer a single solution, but an open platform for teams. Based on this, Cisco has launched a new Webex Meetings application for conference purposes, as well as a new seamless team collaboration application called Webex Teams (formerly Spark). Cisco is deploying all its award-winning video devices to this new integrated platform, and has added a new hardware device to it that can transform any workspace with a TV into a Webex conference room. In addition, Cisco is continuing to apply machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies to comprehensively innovate the status quo of meetings.

  • Introducing a new version of Webex Meetings: To achieve high-level teamwork, face-to-face communication and exchange are essential. The new Webex Meetings is a "video-first" application. Customers only need to turn on the camera function to clearly see all team members in a simple layout through any terminal device (including laptops, Cisco video room devices or mobile devices).
  • Cisco Spark new version, new name - Webex Teams: The new version of Cisco Spark has a new name: Webex Teams. Cisco has fully integrated Webex technology into various applications, so no matter which application customers choose, they will use the same rich Webex meeting features in Teams meetings and get the same experience. Webex Teams provides a richer set of tools, including whiteboards, persistent messaging, simple guest access, content sharing, and integration tools to provide better support for teams during and after meetings. In addition, the new name is also applied to Cisco's award-winning devices, for example: the Spark Room series is renamed the Webex series, and the Spark Board is renamed the Webex Board.
  • Introducing Webex Share, which can transform any space with a TV into a Webex meeting room: Webex Share is a low-cost, easy-to-use application that allows teams to share content on the big screen in the meeting room. Simply plug the palm-sized adapter into the back of the TV to efficiently use the TV space in the meeting room. At the same time, customers can use it with the system according to their own requirements to share documents or screens; after finishing sharing, they can continue working in the Webex Teams space.
  • Release a new roadmap to show how Webex will work with tools from Google, Microsoft and other companies: Cisco provides customers with complete collaboration equipment and solutions, while always retaining customers' right to choose and protecting their product investment benefits and usage rights. Cisco will work with Google, Slack and other companies to provide strong support for customers to easily choose products and enjoy a humanized work experience. Want to use Webex to hold meetings, but also use Microsoft products for team collaboration? Cisco Webex can fully support this demand.
  • Putting an end to bad meetings with artificial intelligence (AI): Cisco is combining AI with cutting-edge digital technology to make every meeting, call, conversation, and interaction smoother and easier for customers. Webex Assistant (formerly Spark Assistant), the world's first AI-powered voice assistant for meetings, will expand its capabilities on more devices. By integrating the innovative technology acquired by MindMeld, Cisco will launch Webex Assistant on some Webex Room Kit and Room series devices in the coming months. In addition, all Cisco video devices now have noise suppression - which means the next time someone is filing documents too loudly on a call, the system will automatically turn down the volume to avoid interrupting the conversation; when the person filing documents starts talking, the system will "know" this event and automatically turn off the noise suppression function - no manual operation is required by the user, the whole process will be magical.

The national tour exhibition kicked off, working together to build an ecological

On May 29, 2018, the nationwide tour of Cisco's collaboration partners and customers officially kicked off in Shanghai, and will be held in 12 cities and regions including Shenzhen, Beijing, Wuhan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. The event has a wide range of topics and focuses on the product portfolio advantages of Cisco's collaboration-related solutions after being renamed Webex. It directly demonstrates Cisco's front-end innovation and practice in the field of collaboration, as well as how Cisco will promote enterprises to seize the advantages brought by collaboration to win changes and achieve leapfrog development in the full digital transformation of the industry.

This renaming and a series of activities such as the national city tour fully demonstrate Cisco's high attention to the continuous improvement of the partner ecosystem, as well as its commitment and determination to make long-term investments in the Chinese market. Cisco Collaboration has always been customer experience-centric, committed to creating a sustainable development platform for enterprises, and jointly building a healthy and prosperous partner ecosystem. Cisco will continue to work with its partners to effectively integrate multi-party dynamic resources, work together, and carry out comprehensive cooperation in products, technology, marketing, and channels to provide Chinese local customers with more valuable collaboration solutions, services, and experiences, and help build a new ecosystem for collaborative technology services in China.
