Which unlimited package of the three major operators is more cost-effective? Detailed comparison

Starting from July 1 this year, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, the three major domestic operators, cancelled domestic data roaming charges, and the speed increase and fee reduction have been upgraded to a new level. Recently, the three major operators have launched unlimited packages. I believe that many friends have already used or are considering applying for corresponding unlimited packages. Although they are all unlimited data packages, the specific packages of the three operators are still slightly different. Let's take a look at which package of these companies is more cost-effective. (The packages in different places may be different. The information used in this article is based on the tariff packages in Beijing)

China Mobile's signal level, network coverage, network speed, etc. are all highly praised, and the number of users is also very large. According to data released by China Mobile, China Mobile's profit in 2017 was 114.3 billion yuan, far exceeding the other two operators. In terms of unlimited packages, China Mobile has launched the "Use as you want" nationwide unlimited package, and the current price starts at 78 yuan.

Rates:

China Mobile's nationwide unlimited use packages are divided into three tiers, priced at 88 yuan, 128 yuan and 238 yuan respectively. If you sign up before the end of 2019, the package prices will be 78 yuan, 98 yuan and 198 yuan.

flow:

Although it is an unlimited package, there is still a data limit within the package, and the speed will be limited for the excess. The 88 yuan package has 10GB of data, the 128 yuan package has 20GB of data, and the 238 yuan package has 40GB of data. The speed of the excess is limited to 1Mbps, and the theoretical download speed is 128K/s, which means you can send WeChat messages, read the news, and browse Weibo.

However, China Mobile's nationwide unlimited data package can also be superimposed with a data package outside the package, which costs 15 yuan/3GB. When the speed is limited after exceeding the limit, you can restore the original network speed by superimposing a data package.

call:

There is a joke that calling is the least used function of our mobile phones nowadays. Indeed, with the emergence of various communication and social software, many young people may rarely make calls. For example, I basically only make calls for express delivery and takeout. In China Mobile's package, the 88 yuan package has 50 minutes of calls, the 128 yuan package has 150 minutes of calls, and the 238 yuan package has 700 minutes of calls. The price after exceeding the limit is 0.19 yuan/minute. I believe that most people are enough.

other:

During the World Cup, China Mobile's unlimited data plans will come with the Migu World Cup Benefits Package, and you can also choose a data-free service.

China Unicom

China Unicom is the first of the three major operators to launch an unlimited package, and it has also launched many Internet packages. The name of China Unicom's unlimited package is also very cute, called the Ice Cream Package.

Rates:

China Unicom’s ice cream package has two tiers, namely 99 yuan and 199 yuan (China Mobile’s unlimited package is one yuan cheaper after the discount).

flow:

China Unicom's unlimited package also adopts the model of speed limit when exceeding the limit. The 99 yuan package can normally use 20GB of traffic, and the speed of the excess is limited to 1Mbps; while the 199 yuan package can normally use 40GB of traffic, and the speed after 40GB is limited to 7.2Mbps (the theoretical speed is about 900K/s, and the actual speed is still enough for watching videos). After exceeding 100GB of traffic, the speed will be limited to 1Mbps.

call:

China Unicom's unlimited data package not only has unlimited data, but also unlimited calls. The 199 yuan package includes unlimited domestic calls (but there are also restrictions, only within the specified range). The 99 yuan package has 300 minutes of talk time, which is probably enough for most people.

telecommunications

China Telecom also has a very good performance in the 4G field. After increasing speed and reducing fees, China Telecom's unlimited packages are becoming more and more affordable. China Telecom's Tianyi unlimited packages can also be processed through the online mall or offline business halls.

Rates:

China Telecom's Tianyi unlimited package also has two tiers, 99 yuan and 199 yuan respectively (did the three companies agree on this?)

flow:

China Telecom's unlimited packages also adopt the model of exceeding the limit and limiting the speed. The 99 yuan package can normally use 20GB of traffic, and the excess is limited to 1Mbps; while the 199 yuan package can normally use 40GB of traffic, and the speed is limited to 1Mbps after 40GB.

call:

***Let’s take a look at the “unused call time”. The 99 yuan package includes 300 minutes of calls, and the 199 yuan package includes 1,000 minutes of calls.

Unlimited substitution of concepts

After comparing the unlimited data packages of the three major operators above, we can see that the three operators are "just like they have agreed on it". The package rates, unlimited data and speed limit modes, and call duration included in the packages are almost the same. So now that almost all mobile phones support full network access, which package to choose almost only depends on which operator's card you are using now (you can just change to the basic package).

However, it seems that the "unlimited package" should be put in quotation marks. The unlimited package is replaced by the speed limit. After the speed is limited to 1Mbps, only some very basic WeChat messages can be sent. It may feel like returning to the GPRS era. So the unlimited package is actually still limited to a certain amount of packages, unless you can tolerate the super slow Internet speed.

Of course, we can understand that the change from the original package to the current "limited" unlimited package has already provided a considerable discount, and it is almost impossible for the operator to release the profits. The limited speed unlimited package has already provided the greatest discount, but I still look forward to the day when there will be a package with the highest amount of data.

There are many other options

In fact, after several rounds of speed increases and fee reductions, many preferential Internet packages and daily rental card packages have emerged. For some friends, such packages may be more suitable than the unlimited packages launched by operators.

For example, the Mobile King Card launched by China Mobile has a monthly rental of 18 yuan and a daily rental of 1 yuan per GB. Normally, if 1GB is enough, it is equivalent to 48 yuan per month.

The Tencent King Card launched by China Unicom and Tencent has a monthly rental of 19 yuan, 1 yuan/GB, and a total of 49 yuan per month.

The Mi Fan Card launched by China Telecom and Xiaomi also has a daily rental card, with a monthly fee of 5 yuan, 1 yuan/800M or 3 yuan for maximum usage, which is only 35 yuan a month.

In addition, these daily rental card packages have different discounts. For example, Tencent King Card already has quite a few application APPs that can be used for free, and Mobile King Card also has 30GB of video-oriented traffic per month, so there is no problem watching videos or TV series on your mobile phone.

Today, I compared the unlimited packages of the three operators. Except for calls, the difference between the three packages is only 98 to 99 yuan. This "concept-changing" unlimited package and various daily rental card Internet packages, just choose the most suitable one according to your own use and hobbies. With the development and continuous reform of technology, I believe that in the near future, we will always see the real unlimited and cheap packages.
