The 2016 Huawei Dalian Software Development Cloud Online Conference was held in Dalian, with the theme of "Cloud Intelligence Software, Sharing the Future". Reporters learned at the conference that by using Huawei Software Development Cloud, the compilation time of 100 million lines of code generated each month can be shortened from 25 minutes to 7.5 minutes, and the version-level compilation speed can be shortened from 94 minutes to 31 minutes. Today, software development is facing multi-dimensional challenges. Delivery cycles are getting shorter, quality control risks are increasing, multi-language mixed development has become the norm, code management is becoming more difficult, cross-team and cross-regional development is increasing, and collaborative efficiency is encountering bottlenecks. Software service will become a trend. Tao Jingwen, senior vice president and chief information officer of Huawei, said that the future is an era of intelligence and digitalization. The value of software will become more and more important and software will be everywhere, but the challenges that come with it are equally daunting. For the Chinese market, the entire software industry still has a large gap with developed countries. The software level of enterprises needs to be cloud-based, service-oriented and intelligent. Tao Jingwen revealed that there are more than 30,000 software companies in China, but nearly half of them have a turnover of less than 50 million yuan. These companies are unable to develop high-investment, high-risk, high-return products, and are generally "small, scattered and weak". The software industry is at the lower end of the global industrial chain. In response, Huawei hopes to enhance the competitiveness of the software industry, cooperate with leading cities and universities in the software industry, and work together with Dalian's software industry to upgrade and transform. Why did they choose Dalian? Not only because the city has more than 2,000 software companies, but also because of its good R&D capabilities and urgent transformation demands. After more than a year of hard work, Huawei Dalian Software Development Cloud has served more than 200 local software companies, supported more than 1,100 software development projects, and more than 7,000 developers use it online every day. Li Chuang, CEO of Dalian Yungongchang Technology Service Co., Ltd., said that Huawei Software Development Cloud solved the problem of multi-environment collaborative R&D, and the solution development cycle was shortened from 6.5 months to 3 months. Wu Bin, CIO of Dalian Loulan Technology Co., Ltd., said that Huawei helped the company shorten the software construction time from 5 hours to half an hour, achieving continuous delivery. There are more than 2 million software developers in China, and the annual compound growth rate of software scale exceeds 38%. Xu Feng, product director of Huawei Software Development Cloud, revealed that the scale of the software industry will grow from 5 trillion yuan in 2016 to 8 trillion yuan in 2020, and 90% of enterprise applications will run in the cloud, accompanied by the emergence of new technologies such as containers and microservices. In the past, software upgrades may take 1-2 months, but DevOps in the microservice era can shorten the time to go online to 1 day or even shorter, and the error rate of the automation platform is also lower. In the future, microservice teams may only have 5-8 people. It is understood that Huawei Software Development Cloud provides agile R&D, DevOps, microservices, continuous delivery and other capabilities, involving project management, configuration management, code checking, compilation and construction, testing, deployment, release, and client development. In terms of R&D ecology, it aggregates ISVs, value-added integrators, distributors, technical support and information training. "Huawei Software Development Cloud is a public cloud service. Developers only need to register on the website to use it, which can improve the collaborative efficiency by more than 50%." Xu Feng said. Currently, Huawei Software Development Cloud can also perform code inspection, locate the specific line of code where the problem occurs, and provide repair suggestions. This is mainly to improve R&D efficiency and avoid R&D personnel discovering problems in the later stage, which affects the entire project cycle. Yang Ruikai, President of Huawei Enterprise Cloud Business Unit, said that Huawei hopes to provide better IaaS infrastructure services to its partners, which requires PaaS layer service capabilities, and the software development cloud can do just that. In the future, Huawei will work with its partners to build PaaS layer services to provide services to customers. |
