Company Introduction

Karamay is the only city in the world named after oil. "Karamay" is the transliteration of the Uyghur word "black oil", and is named after a group of natural asphalt hills in the northeast corner of the city - Black Oil Mountain. Karamay is the first large oil field explored and developed after the founding of New China. In 2002, its crude oil production exceeded 10 million tons, becoming the first large oil field in western China with a crude oil production of more than 10 million tons. On December 20, 2011, Karamay was awarded the honorary title of "National Civilized City".

Challenges

At present, the Karamay Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have focused on the development of the information industry as a strategic new industry for urban transformation, and the cloud computing industry base under construction will become the spatial carrier of Karamay's information industry. The development positioning of the information industry park has been sorted out, and a scientific, operational and practical planning scheme has been proposed.

In order to support Karamay's informatization construction towards the cloud, after much research, it was decided to migrate the e-government collaboration platform and the government portal website to Huawei's enterprise cloud computing platform in the initial stage, and make full use of the government's original system network environment resources, and deploy the first phase of the cloud computing data center in the central computer room of the government office building.

Karamay's informatization construction, like the rest of the country, is deeply affected by the "Four Repositories" and "Twelve Golds" projects, with low resource sharing, low maintenance efficiency, inconvenient management and maintenance, and cumbersome deployment processes. The infrastructure resources of the e-government collaboration platform and government portal website deployed in 2008 can no longer meet the current application expansion. In view of this situation, and in combination with the requirements of Karamay's industrial transformation, the management department took the initiative to seek changes and decided to cloud the collaborative office platform and portal website.

Solution

In the planning and deployment of the e-government cloud computing center, the most important indicator is security to ensure the security of government data. At the beginning of data deployment, the division of secure and trusted areas and DMZ areas was considered to provide different protections for systems with different security levels. Considering the area limitation of the first phase of the computer room, the concept of VPDC (Virtual Private Data Center) was proposed, that is, to open up an independent area on the Huawei Enterprise Cloud Service Karamay node, similar to the concept of VIP boxes in the data center computer room, for the addition and expansion of all e-government systems.

Private data centers also inherit the characteristics of all public cloud services:

Use on demand: Reduce investment while flexibly adapting to changes in various businesses.

Fast deployment: Eliminating the trouble of putting servers on the shelves, the elastic computing cloud can deploy the operating system and software required by the collaborative platform and other new systems within ten minutes and complete the service launch. It can increase and reduce the scale of IT infrastructure at any time to meet the needs of business development in real time.

Remote management and maintenance: Through the online customer visual web interface, customers can apply, activate, configure, monitor, and manage online by themselves. They can activate multiple elastic computing products at one time and assign them to different uses, conduct self-service multi-level networking and architecture deployment, so as to quickly provide services to customers.

One-stop service: It provides free value-added services such as security and monitoring, which greatly simplifies the subsequent operation and maintenance costs.
