5G development is not going smoothly, the number of fake 5G users has become the mainstream, and the three major operators have become the "root of the problem"

As we all know, Huawei's 5G technology is the best in the world. Ericsson and Nokia are also defeated by Huawei. In addition, with the blessing of "China speed", as of the end of February 2022, the number of 5G base stations built in China has reached 1.506 million, ranking first in the world, and the United States has been left far behind.

Although our data is really good, how many people have felt the speed of 5G? As a pseudo 5G user, I don’t know whether 5G is fast or not, but I know that 4G is indeed getting slower and slower. Why do users feel this gap?

First of all, let's define a concept - fake 5G users, which means using a 5G phone but continuing to use a 4G package. Although the mobile network will display 5G, it is all fake, false, and "forged". Check whether you are a real 5G user or a fake 5G user.

At present, the current situation in my country is that the speed of 5G base station construction is quite fast, but the development of 5G is not smooth, and fake 5G users are still the mainstream. The "root of the problem" is the three major operators, which were criticized by the People's Daily. Therefore, if the three major operators do not correct the two major problems, it will be difficult for my country's 5G development to make a breakthrough.

Problem 1: 5G charges are too high

As an ordinary user, my 4G package is 68 yuan. To be honest, I rarely make calls now, and I basically send WeChat messages. And there is usually Wifi indoors, so too high a fee will lead to greater waste. From a consumer's perspective, a package fee of around 50 yuan is just right, but it is obvious that this price is not enough to get a 5G package.

At present, the starting price of 5G packages of the three major operators is more than 100 yuan. Even if young people can accept it, middle-aged people, the elderly and students cannot accept it. Therefore, the high cost of 5G packages is also the main reason for the slow growth in the number of 5G users.

Problem 2: Operators are full of tricks

To be honest, after these years of "coming and going", I believe that many users have become dissatisfied with the operators. Even if the number portability is open, there are only three options to switch to, and the next one may not be better, so the meaning of number portability is not great. Moreover, the routines of major operators are basically the same, and the eldest brother does not criticize the second brother.

Take China Mobile as an example. In order to promote the development of 5G, China Mobile has adopted a more radical approach. I believe you have also received a call from China Mobile asking you to upgrade your package for free on the grounds of being a "high-quality customer". However, the "3-month" period has been weakened. When you find that you have started to be charged after three months and want to downgrade back to the original package, the other party will refuse to process the request on the grounds that the original package has been removed from the shelves or that 5G cannot be returned to 4G, leaving the user helpless.

This kind of routine is not uncommon. At the beginning, operators will attract users with reasons such as "free" and "gift". Especially some middle-aged and elderly users are easily fooled and will eventually be cheated. After falling into so many traps, consumers have no good impression of the three major operators or even 5G. Who will take the initiative to upgrade to 5G at this juncture?

Therefore, if the three major operators cannot reflect on themselves and solve these two problems as soon as possible, consumers will lose interest in 5G, after all, 4G is enough. If they continue to delay for two or three years, or four or five years, the operators will not be able to rely on revenue to support the cost of 5G construction, and will eventually suffer heavy losses.
