Yesterday, I was chatting with a friend who works in the market. He said that the virtual operator number card market is too difficult to operate and it is difficult to delegate the number cards. There are many reasons for this. 1. Low popularity; 2. No highlights in the product; 3. No advantage in the commission; 4. Too much negative news online, etc.
Is this really the case? I looked back and analyzed it carefully, and it is correct but not entirely. 1. Low popularity: It is true that virtual operators are less well-known than the three major operators, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom. Many people have never heard of virtual operators. 2. I cannot agree with the statement that the product has no highlights. First, the general tariffs of virtual operators are lower than those of the three major operators. Second, virtual operators are working on market segmentation, developing targeted products for a certain type of user or developing freely customized packages, 9-yuan 5G packages, etc. There are still some highlights. 3. No advantage in commissions. Compared with the three major operators, virtual operators still have an advantage in commissions, but there is also a serious internal competition among virtual operators. As far as I know, the commissions given by most virtual operators are not much different. However, the commissions of some virtual operators are indeed higher. 4. There are too many negative comments online. It is true that there are a lot of negative comments online. I feel that it is not very meaningful to comment on this point, because both the three major operators and the virtual operators are criticized online. The three major operators are criticized for their high fees, random charges, random changes in packages, etc. There are many fraud calls against the virtual operators, all of which are telemarketing calls, etc. There are almost no positive comments. I feel sorry for all the operators for three seconds. Actually, this makes sense. Although I use it well, you didn't pay me for publicity, so why should I publish an article to praise you? But if I am not satisfied with it, I must file a complaint against you and publish an article to expose you, which is why there are so many negative comments on the Internet. There are now four basic operators and 39 virtual operators in China, including radio and television. Users have to choose among these operators, unless they don't use them. And the better the company develops, the more users it has, and the more negative news it will have. But if all companies have a lot of negative news, I feel that this point is not very meaningful. Why is the market so difficult now?1. The era of demographic dividend has passed, the traditional communications business market has become saturated, and cross-border competition has continued to intensify. This should be the main reason. Now everyone has a phone card, and some even have two or three. The entire market is currently in a stock market. 2. The current survival dilemma of virtual operators mainly comes from the fact that the traditional low-cost model is squeezed out under saturated market competition. For basic operators, traffic discounts are still the main marketing method, which further reduces the space for virtual operators to increase user growth in a low-cost manner. So what should the market do?1. Relying on the IoT platform to provide global IoT connection services, it is expected that by 2023, the number of cellular IoT connections will increase dramatically to 3.5 billion. The IoT market is huge and it is also a trend; 2. Continuing the advantage of MVNO’s low-cost model, the connected services are relatively cheap; 3. Targeting multiple industries. Give full play to the advantages in resources and flexibility to better provide efficient and convenient services to the entire society. |
