5G FWA is booming: Views from the MBBF2021 5G FWA Industry Forum

During the 2021 Global Mobile Broadband Forum, the second 5G FWA Industry Forum was grandly held. This forum brought together 5G FWA network operators, network equipment suppliers, industry alliances, CPE suppliers and other industry partners to share the successful experience and industry progress in developing 5G FWA users, put forward constructive suggestions for the development of 5G FWA, and promote the rapid development of the 5G FWA industry.

Tiago Rocha, Chief Marketing Officer of Saudi ZAIN, said: Saudi ZAIN has vigorously developed 5G M-MIMO network and used its FWA as the main promotion service of 5G network. The number of users and DOU have increased rapidly. ZAIN's 5G FWA has surpassed other fixed networks with its excellent user experience and won Ookla's "Fastest Fixed Network Speed ​​Award".

Industry organizations believe that the 5G FWA industry has rapidly matured and has become the mainstream model for home broadband access around the world.

From the perspective of the terminal industry, Joe Barrett, Chairman of GSA, said: 5G FWA terminal manufacturers and product models are growing rapidly, and the 5G FWA industry has matured.

In addition, representatives of CPE manufacturers attended the meeting and stated that more high-performance CPEs and lower-priced CPEs (US$100) will be launched in the near future to meet the demands of different user groups.
