Why are private operators becoming more and more popular while the three major operators are being neglected?

In 2013, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology chose to open up the market to private operators in order to break the monopoly of the three major operators. Eight years have passed, and now more and more people in the market are choosing private operators. Why is this?

In fact, at the beginning, many people were not optimistic about private operators, because private operators actually only provide mobile resale services. Based on the high cost of signal base stations, private operators can only rent signal base stations from the three major operators. In the final analysis, they cannot be separated from the three major operators, so many people are not optimistic about them.

In fact, in the early years, the development of private operators was very difficult, but they also had a good time. For example, when the 4G network speed was increased and the fee was reduced in 2015, private operators worked very hard to compete in the market and lowered the traffic price very low, forcing the three major operators to follow suit and put the three major operators in a passive position. However, despite this, many private operators did go bankrupt. There was a news report that all 42 private operators in the market were losing money at that time.

The private operators that have survived today can be said to have experienced the test of time and the repeated tests of consumers. The private operators that have survived in the market are relatively powerful and trustworthy. Therefore, many young people in the market now prefer private operators, and the three major operators have begun to be neglected. But why is this actually the case?

The answer is that compared with the three state-owned operators, the private operators have to endure greater market competition. Multiple private operators share the cake, making it easy for private operators to be eliminated. Therefore, private operators must constantly improve themselves, improve their services, and develop better products to gain a foothold in this market; in the market, the products launched by private operators are generally more favorable than those of the three major operators, and there are often activities where you can get free phone bills when you recharge your phone bills.

For example, one of the more popular private operators now is Quanmin Youda. The 5G free selection launched by this private operator is much cheaper than those of the three major operators. If you purchase the most favorable traffic overlay package, the traffic price per GB is as low as 1.2 yuan, and the lowest monthly rent is only 9 yuan. It does not bundle any free text messages, free calls, etc., which is indeed very free.

The phenomenon that private operators are becoming more and more popular just reflects the harm that the monopoly of the three major operators has brought to the market. Competition is needed in every market, and only through constant competition can consumers experience better products.
