On May 12, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held a special meeting on 5G/6G, listened to the report on the progress of 5G and 6G work by experts from the IMT-2020 (5G)/IMT-2030 (6G) Promotion Group, and studied the work related to promoting the development of 5G and 6G. The meeting emphasized that 5G and 6G, as important directions for the evolution and upgrading of the new generation of information and communication technology, are key information infrastructure for the interconnection of all things and important driving forces for the transformation and upgrading of the economy and society. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology resolutely implemented the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, gave full play to the platform role of the IMT-2020 (5G) and IMT-2030 (6G) Promotion Group, organized the forces of industry, academia, research and application, closely deployed and coordinated the promotion, and achieved positive results in the development of 5G and 6G.

6G, the sixth generation mobile communication standard, is a conceptual wireless network mobile communication technology, also known as the sixth generation mobile communication technology.
