As one of the key technologies in the new round of scientific and industrial revolution, 5G will be integrated with the Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other technologies to form a series of new business forms and models, empowering all areas of the economy and society. According to forecasts, by 2025, 5G will drive telecom operators' network investment by about 1.2 trillion yuan; the cumulative scale of information consumption will exceed 8.3 trillion yuan, and the total economic output will directly exceed 10 trillion yuan.

Secondly, the growth of mobile user traffic will drive network expansion, and the evolution of mobile networks to 5G will become an inevitable trend.

In recent years, with the decline in mobile data charges and the continuous enrichment of mobile Internet applications, the traffic of mobile users has continued to grow. The widespread application of large-traffic application scenarios such as online education and remote office has further promoted the rapid growth of mobile Internet traffic. In 2020, my country's mobile Internet access traffic increased by 35.7% over the previous year. Mobile user data traffic continues to increase. Under this trend, the original mobile network urgently needs to be upgraded and expanded, and the evolution to 5G network is the general trend.

It should be noted that my country currently has advantages in 5G technology standards, equipment, networks, applications, etc. Accelerating the deployment of 5G networks and exploring the development of 5G applications will help transform my country's leading technological advantages into market advantages and lay a solid foundation for my country's economic and social transformation towards digitalization.

Of course, focusing on 5G construction does not mean blindly rushing forward without considering the input-output ratio. my country's 5G network construction should adhere to the principle of moderate advancement, match the development path and rhythm of applications, and continuously reduce the deployment and operation costs of the entire network by continuously optimizing network construction strategies, operation strategies and policy environments, so as to support the implementation of applications as quickly as possible at the lowest possible cost, thereby truly promoting the high-quality development of 5G networks.
