On April 21, according to foreign media reports, Vietnam's Ministry of Information and Communications recently stated that the country will accelerate the commercialization of 5G networks and will launch large-scale 5G service tests in 2021. 5G is the next generation of cellular technology with download speeds 10 to 100 times faster than current 4G networks.
In addition, for faster data download and upload speeds, 5G technology is also expected to have wider coverage and more stable connections. Now, many telecommunications companies around the world are working on 5G network technology, which is considered to be the next leap in wireless technology. With the promotion of 5G networks, more and more countries are accelerating the deployment of 5G networks. In 2021, Vietnam will start large-scale 5G service testing using some locally manufactured 5G equipment, focusing on agriculture, high-tech and Industry 4.0 applications. According to statistics, by the end of February 2021, the total number of fixed broadband users in Vietnam exceeded 17.2 million, and the total number of mobile broadband users was close to 69.5 million. |
