The cumulative number of 5G package users of the three major operators has exceeded 300 million and has been announced

Recently, China Unicom announced its full-year performance report for 2020, disclosing the number of 5G package users for the first time. As of December 31, 2020, China Unicom's 5G package users reached 70.83 million, with a user penetration rate of 23%.

The financial report shows that China Unicom's annual revenue in 2020 was 303.84 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%, and its net profit was 12.493 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.3%.

In 2020, China Unicom's 5G package users reached 70.83 million, and the penetration rate of 5G package users reached 23%. Fixed-line broadband access revenue increased by 2.4% year-on-year to 42.6 billion yuan, and the net increase in fixed-line broadband users was 2.62 million, reaching a total of 86.1 million. Industrial Internet business revenue increased by 30.0% year-on-year to 42.7 billion yuan, accounting for 15.5% of the overall service revenue.

In addition, China Unicom and China Telecom have built the world's first and largest 5G co-construction and sharing network, with a total of 380,000 5G base stations. Co-construction and sharing has saved both companies more than 76 billion yuan in network construction costs.

It is worth mentioning that with China Unicom announcing the number of 5G package users, the total number of 5G package users of the three major operators has exceeded 300 million.
