I can relate to this. This year, Spring Festival greetings, entertainment methods and consumption patterns continue to shift online. Staying at home, people are just watching Douyin and TV series. Douyin data shows that from February 4 to 15, the number of short videos of New Year greetings increased by 11 times year-on-year; Youku platform data shows that from January 28 to February 16, more than 2.3 billion people went online to watch TV series and movies, a year-on-year increase of 20%.

In addition, "celebrating the festival online", digital red envelopes, and online shopping for New Year's goods have become new trends. Paper red envelopes are becoming less and less, and digital red envelopes are everywhere. Data from the Alipay platform shows that online red envelope distribution has increased by 270%, with 260 million people participating in the online "write blessings and send blessings" activity.

In addition, the total mobile phone billing time in China was 54.84 billion minutes, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%. The number of mobile text messages sent nationwide reached 21.2 billion, and the proportion of various public welfare text messages increased. With the development of information and communication technology, shopping and New Year greetings without leaving home have become fashionable, which not only reduces the transmission rate of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, but also does not affect the relationship between each other due to the increase in distance.

The explosion of large traffic also brings challenges to providers in the information and communication industry. All basic telecommunications companies strengthen network security protection work in key epidemic prevention areas to ensure the smooth flow and reliable quality of mobile base stations and dedicated lines such as epidemic prevention hospitals and health departments; China Telecom focuses on improving the user perception of mobile scanning services in response to the surge in travel epidemic prevention and consumer scanning.

Secondly, multiple measures are taken to ensure network security, smooth operation and high quality. During the seven-day Spring Festival holiday, the national communication network was safe, smooth and stable, achieving the security goals of no major network failures, no major security incidents and no major customer complaints. Basic telecommunications companies have formulated targeted network security protection strategies and carried out comprehensive hidden danger investigation, inspection and capacity expansion before the festival. China Mobile has promoted intelligent network protection means, including online management of security personnel, online collaboration of abnormal events, network cloud intelligent disaster recovery, intelligent computer room inspection, AI intelligent voice complaint analysis, etc., to effectively improve the efficiency of protection; China Unicom has formulated anti-congestion and anti-attack plans for the Internet and data centers (IDC); China Telecom has invested 110,000 security personnel.
