Flash is dead, and its first victim appears: the router can no longer log in

Flash was once the memory of a generation, but it was also hated by many people. Fortunately, it died on December 31, 2020. Its parent company Adobe no longer supports it. Internet companies such as Microsoft, Google, and Apple have also given up and even forced the deletion of Flash.

Not only that, today (January 12) Adobe has further attacked Flash. Any request to access Flash will be blocked and directed to a page saying that Flash has stopped supporting it, so that everyone can switch to other technologies.

Flash is going away. Although Adobe notified other companies to abandon Flash technology three years ago, this time the complete death of Flash still caused some trouble. Extreme Networks, which produces routers and other network products, was affected.

According to the company's announcement, due to the discontinuation of Flash updates, their cooperation with the third-party licensing company changed at the last minute, resulting in the inability to connect to its WiNG-Man application after January 12.

Simply put, the death of Flash caused a lot of problems, making their software unable to log in to multiple products such as routers, but there are workarounds, which can be accessed using command line or cloud tools.

They are currently working to upgrade the software to resolve this issue. Another option is to change the computer date back to before January 12 and temporarily use the management software.
