In terms of co-construction and sharing, China Telecom and China Unicom have jointly built 300,000 5G base stations. In addition, China Broadcasting Network Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of 101.2 billion yuan, was officially established in Beijing a few days ago, becoming the fourth largest operator in China; after its establishment, China Broadcasting will issue mobile phone numbers in the 192 segment, and China Broadcasting has also signed a cooperation framework agreement on co-construction and sharing with China Mobile.

In the past year since 5G was put into commercial use, the 5G construction of the three major operators has been accelerating. First, the more 5G base stations there are, the stronger the mobile phone signal will be, and the better the people will feel. As of the end of September, a total of 690,000 5G base stations have been built nationwide. As for China Mobile alone, as of October 15, more than 350,000 base stations have been opened nationwide, and the annual construction task has been completed ahead of schedule. Secondly, for the network, as more and more people use it, the ecological chain will gradually improve, and the 5G network and the entire industry will become bigger and bigger. At present, the market size is growing like a snowball. The cumulative number of terminal connections nationwide has exceeded 160 million. As of the end of September, China Mobile's 5G customers exceeded 100 million; the price of 5G terminals has dropped from 5,000 yuan at the beginning of the year to about 1,500 yuan in July. Third, 5G terminal models are also constantly enriched, and people have more choices. From about 40 models at the beginning of the year to more than 130 models in September, the number of 5G terminals has exceeded 70 million, and 5G key applications have exceeded 350 million.

Li Kunjiang, deputy manager of the Wireless Network Department of the Planning and Construction Department of China Mobile, said: "We originally planned to add 250,000 stations this year, reaching 300,000. In the middle of the year, we added another 50,000, which is equivalent to adding 300,000 stations this year, reaching 350,000. By the end of the year, a total of more than 350,000 stations will be built. Priority will be given to ensuring the construction needs of some key areas in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and Hainan, while ensuring the needs of 2B industry application demonstrations and vertical industry business expansion. In addition, we are also accelerating the construction of 5GSA and strive to achieve large-scale commercial use in the third quarter."

Many people feel that 5G packages are more expensive than 4G packages. What are the settings of 5G packages? Is there room for further reduction in 5G package charges and terminal prices in the future? In terms of the settings of 5G packages, most of them include traffic, voice and speed, etc., which are different for different operators. In terms of the prices of 5G packages and 4G packages, they should not be simply and directly compared horizontally. Cai Zhengxing, head of the Public Market Development Department of China Mobile's Market Operation Department, explained that in the future, as the penetration rate of 5G continues to increase and the number of users increases, 4G and 5G packages will gradually converge. In this way, the price of 5G packages will not be more expensive than 4G, but on the contrary, the unit price will be lower.

Cai Zhengxing said: "Originally, 4G packages also cost more than 200, 300, and 400 yuan, but compared with 5G, they may have fewer applications and rights. We are equivalent to bringing everyone's rights and interests together. Later, after some consideration, we decided to combine them into one from the perspective of benefiting consumers. There are more resources in it, so it is not the case that the original 4G package is more favorable and the 5G package is more expensive. In fact, the unit price of 5G is much lower than that of 4G, but it contains more resources, so it feels like the price of the entire package has become a little higher than the original threshold, but in fact, its overall fee is lower."

According to Cui Fang, deputy general manager of the technical department of China Mobile Terminal Company, Apple, Huawei, and OPPO basically support 5G independent networking SA networks. What is independent networking? This is relative to non-independent networking, that is, when the 5G network is not fully built, part of the 4G network is upgraded to allow users to experience the 5G network. This is called non-independent networking NSA; independent networking is completely 5G's own network, and users will experience better. Regarding the future market, Cui Fang judged that by next year, most mobile phone products on the market will be 5G products, and product prices will drop further. She said: "By the end of this year, Huawei, Apple, and OPPO will gradually upgrade to support our SA. We are even working with China Unicom and China Telecom. We hope that the existing terminals that can be upgraded to support NSA dual-mode by the end of this year will open SA capabilities as soon as possible, so that a wider range of users can experience 5G services."

After having a 5G mobile phone, some users have proposed that they want to enjoy the 5G network on the original 4G package. Is this possible? At present, operators have launched 5G packages and 4G packages in one. Will the 4G tariff system be replaced in the future? It is understood that it is possible to enjoy the 5G network on the original package, provided that you have a 5G mobile phone. At the same time, Cai Zhengxing responded that if you don't want to use the 5G package, you can consider using the 4G package to superimpose the traffic package, and you can also experience the 5G network. He introduced: "If you don't want to change the 4G package you used before, no problem, the original one can be used normally, and we will not stop it because there is an agreement. It is equivalent to having two choices. If you choose the 5G package, it has more traffic, more voice, and more rights; if you don't want to choose the 5G package, you still use the original one, superimpose an overlay package, and you may be able to use 5G immediately, and the price will not be very high. Now the 128 yuan and above packages have been combined. In the future, we will see the situation. As more and more are combined, in the future, for example, 70% or 80% will be 5G users, and we will no longer need to maintain multiple tariff systems."
