Apple said on Tuesday that it will hold its second special fall new product launch event this year at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on October 13 (2 a.m. Beijing Time on October 14). Last month, Apple held a fall launch event with the theme of "Time Flies". This launch event, like the Time Flies launch event and this year's Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), will be held online.

Previously, Apple's WWDC and Time Flies events were both very successful. The upcoming special new product launch event will follow a similar style. The keynote speeches and other conference content will be recorded in advance and broadcast online at that time. Judging from the situation in previous years, iPhone new product launch conferences are generally held in the form of on-site meetings. The keynote speakers and new product launchers will go on stage to give speeches and introductions, and there will be a large number of live audiences in the audience. However, this year's new coronavirus pandemic has completely changed the format of this year's conference. Epidemic prevention measures such as maintaining social distance have forced the launch conference to be held online instead of offline.

On September 15th, local time, Apple held the Time Flies conference and released new products such as the upgraded version of the 10.2-inch iPad, iPad Air 4, Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE. The new product launch conference to be held on October 13th will almost certainly revolve around new iPhone products.

It is rumored that the iPhone 12 series consists of four products, namely the 5.4-inch iPhone 12, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. The two products with the word Pro in their names are said to have stronger display performance, using ProMotion technology, a screen refresh rate of 120Hz, and support for 10-bit color depth.

The standard model without the Pro in its name may have 12-megapixel ultra-wide and wide-angle cameras on the back, while the Pro model has an additional telephoto lens on the back. However, there are also rumors that the Pro model will also include a lidar sensor on the back, giving it depth mapping capabilities similar to the iPad Pro.

It is expected that the performance of these new cameras will be greatly improved, supporting up to 4k 240fps high frame rate video shooting, as well as advanced noise reduction, enhanced night mode, bit depth video and other functions.

These new products will be equipped with the powerful A14 chip, which has significantly improved performance over its predecessor and may have twice as many transistors as the A13. The two products without the word "Pro" in their names are expected to have 4GB or 6GB of memory. The other two products with the word "Pro" in their names are expected to have 128GB and 256GB of memory, and can be upgraded to 512GB of memory.

Consumers will also widely expect these new products to have 5G functions, but it is not yet known how Apple's new products will handle the differences in the frequency bands used for 5G network signal transmission. Media reports say that several new products may support bands below 6GHz, but some may also support high-speed millimeter waves.

In addition to releasing four new iPhone products, Apple is still likely to release the target tracking device AirTags at this new conference. In addition, there may be new news about AirPods Studio, HomePod and Apple Silicon.

Apple officially announced at this year's WWDC conference that it is switching from Intel processors to its own Apple Silicon, and the first Mac product equipped with this chip will be launched at the end of this year. In fact, Apple's mobile products, including iPhone, iPad and other mobile phones and tablet computer products, have gradually introduced their own A series mobile application processors in the past 10 years, and Apple's full use of Apple Silicon is in progress.
