Four departments jointly issued a document, and 5G development has attracted attention again

In order to expand investment in strategic emerging industries, cultivate and expand new growth points and growth poles, and better play the important engine role of strategic emerging industries, accelerate the construction of a modern industrial system, and promote high-quality economic development, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Finance and other four departments recently jointly issued the "Guiding Opinions on Expanding Investment in Strategic Emerging Industries and Cultivating and Expanding New Growth Points and Growth Poles" (hereinafter referred to as the "Guiding Opinions").

The Guiding Opinions propose that we should speed up the improvement of the quality and efficiency of the new generation of information technology industry, including 5G technology. In the process of 5G industry development, we should increase investment in 5G construction, accelerate the pace of 5G commercialization, give priority to opening up base station construction to government agencies, enterprises, institutions and public institutions at all levels, and include 5G base stations in the construction specifications of commercial buildings and residential buildings. We should accelerate the core research of basic materials, key components, etc., and expand reasonable and effective investment.

From this, we can see that 5G base station construction, 5G application pilots, 5G core research and 5G reasonable investment have received great attention from the four departments. At present, my country's 5G base station construction has exceeded 500,000, with an average of more than 10,000 new base stations built per week, and has basically achieved initial results; at the same time, 5G application pilots have also covered multiple fields such as industry, medical care, media, and transportation; 5G core technology research and 5G reasonable investment are also being absorbed in an orderly and continuous manner.

In this context, combined with national instructions and expert opinions, my country's future 5G development base station construction should focus on cost, energy consumption and quality, accelerate independent networking construction, increase co-construction and sharing efforts, and accelerate economic, efficient and high-quality network coverage. Applications should focus on breadth and depth to further enhance the effectiveness and pace of 5G commercialization. Core technologies and investments should focus on subjectivity and guidance, and support more entities through policies to participate.

At present, although my country's 5G development is leading the world, it is still in the early stages of development and has a long way to go. Only by working together and overcoming difficulties can my country go far and move towards a bright future!
