Cisco wins three employer awards for building cross-generational innovative talent strategies in the digital era

At the end of 2018, Cisco has won a series of employer awards from the world's top and local authoritative organizations: Cisco has been on the list of "2018 Best Workplaces in Greater China" for the third consecutive year released by the Great Place to Work® Institute, a world-renowned workplace research and certification organization; at the same time, in the "China Model Employer" selection initiated by 51job, one of China's top human resources service providers, Cisco once again won the "2018 China 100 Model Employers" and "2018 Human Resources Digital Management Model" awards, highlighting the industry's high recognition of Cisco's active construction of a cross-generational innovative talent strategy.

In the 2018 "Greater China Best Workplace" selection, a total of 150 companies in Greater China participated, and 36 companies were finally listed. At the Great Workplace® Greater China Annual Summit, Ms. Xiao Jieyun, Cisco Global Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Greater China, delivered a keynote speech based on the theme of the forum "Opportunities and Challenges in the Cross-Generational Workplace". She said: "As a manager of Cisco, I am proud that Cisco's technology and culture can provide our employees with an excellent working environment, helping employees of different ages and experiences to achieve endless possibilities."

In her speech, Ms. Xiao Jieyun also mentioned three aspects of Cisco that employees love: Cisco's cutting-edge technology and many technical experts; flexible and diverse working methods and working environment; and, at Cisco, everyone can truly feel that their work can create value for society and have an impact on the future.

As a global technology leader, Cisco always stands at the forefront of the times, pioneering innovative technologies that can connect people, things, data and processes. The development of the Internet has bridged many cultural, regional and background differences, and the formation of a "cross-generational workplace" has brought more and more opportunities and challenges. Cisco's team members are often very diverse in age, including those born in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. The multi-age composition makes the team both mature and energetic, and both experienced and innovative. The collision of new and old people in the workplace often brings more inspiration and reflection.

At Cisco, the company's management is no longer the judge of performance scores, but rather encourages individual strengths to enhance team capabilities, thereby bringing out excellent results. The corporate culture of full trust in employees, comprehensive employee care programs, and mature and complete flexible working methods have brought everyone an all-round improvement in the workplace experience and achieved a balance and ease between work and life.

Cisco is well aware that charity is not a one-time thing, but a mission that runs through the entire process. Cisco not only actively fulfills its corporate citizenship responsibilities as a company and participates in good deeds in the community and society, but also encourages employees with practical actions. At Cisco, in addition to normal annual leave, each employee will have an additional five days of fully paid charity leave each year. For every hour of volunteer work an employee dedicates, Cisco will donate $10. In fiscal year 2018, more than 7,000 employees in Cisco Asia Pacific participated in volunteer activities. Based on the volunteer time of employees, Cisco has now donated more than $263,000. The company also has a citizen committee. In addition to their daily work, employees will regularly contribute their wisdom, time and money to further discover their own value in the process of giving back to society.

Cisco has been committed to providing employees with rapid growth development space, unique and innovative workplace experience, and a more inclusive and diverse corporate culture through innovative talent strategies. Based on the corporate culture concept of "Everything is connected, innovation is the best, and everyone benefits", Cisco has further established a psychological contract with its employees by launching the "People Deal" value. Cisco hopes that through this series of innovative measures, it can further help employees improve their workplace value and capabilities, boldly innovate, explore, grow, learn and create with Cisco, establish a more powerful culture of teamwork and innovation, continuously give new value to technology, and better face future opportunities and challenges.
