Ms. Meng: Being brave is not about not being afraid, but about holding on to the ideals in your heart.

Ms. Meng: Being brave is not about not being afraid, but about holding on to the ideals in your heart.

Last night, a letter from a Japanese person was shared on WeChat Moments, which really warmed my heart! As I have said countless times, there is true love in the world. When you are in trouble, you will realize that you have been cared for by so many strangers. On the day of bail, while waiting for the formalities in court, my lawyer chatted with me and said that many strangers called the law firm and said they were willing to use their own property to guarantee me. Even though they did not know me at all, they knew Huawei and recognized Huawei, so they were willing to believe me. My lawyer said that he had been in the industry for more than 40 years and had never seen such a willingness to guarantee for a stranger. Listening to the lawyer's words, I couldn't help but burst into tears, not for myself, but for so many strangers who were willing to believe in me and trust me. When the Fukushima earthquake occurred in Japan, I happened to be at the IBM headquarters in the United States, participating in a week-long workshop, and was having the first round of detailed communication with IBM's top financial experts on whether to launch the IFS transformation and the scope of the IFS transformation.

At that time, the company had just decided to hand over all emergency plans to the finance department, including war, plague, riots, earthquakes, etc. The finance and business teams jointly developed emergency plans for various scenarios and organized drills on weekdays so that the plans could be quickly activated when disasters occurred, and the various departments of the company could quickly assemble and respond according to the design of the plans. Because I really couldn't leave in the United States, I asked Mr. Sun to go to Japan alone.

After returning from the United States, I organized my finance colleagues to share and discuss what we learned from the workshop in the United States. After we reached a basic consensus and formed a financial reform idea that could be communicated with IBM, I booked a flight to Tokyo and went to the Japanese representative office to meet with everyone to discuss the work arrangements for post-disaster reconstruction, including the emergency repair of customer networks and our own daily operations. Before I went to Japan, the company's emergency work group had been established, and Mr. Sun had just returned from Japan. There was not much for me to do. I just sorted out the work of the two weeks after the earthquake with the Japanese representative office, checked the work order with everyone, and took a lot of notes myself.

The Japanese earthquake was the first time that a financial organization was involved in the design and implementation of a crisis plan. Although there were obstacles in the collaboration of many links in the post-disaster reconstruction work of the Japanese earthquake, it helped us accumulate very valuable experience. A few years later, when the Nepal earthquake occurred, our crisis plan was able to fully and timely support the post-disaster reconstruction work, and was highly praised by Nepalese customers.

I rarely mention this experience, and there is nothing to be proud of. It is just my job. Good people will be rewarded. Unexpectedly, eight years later, this reward appeared in front of me in the form of a letter from an ordinary Japanese, which filled my heart with immense pride and relief. I am proud because I boarded the flight to Japan under the uncertainty. Bravery is not because of fear, but the faith in my heart; comfort is because God can always see our efforts and never ignore our efforts.
