Listen to the strongest voice of open source in China. Alibaba, Huawei, Tencent, and Xiaomi gathered in Beijing. The much-anticipated OSCAR Open Source Pioneer Day is finally here! OSCAR Open Source Pioneer Day aims to provide a platform for sharing and communication between local open source companies and open source software, and promote the prosperity and development of domestic open source software. The event is hosted by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, organized by the Cloud Computing Standards and Open Source Promotion Committee, Tsinghua University TUNA Association, and Peking University Open Source Software Association, supported by the Cloud Computing Open Source Industry Alliance, Huawei, Tencent, Alibaba, and Xiaomi, and co-organized by the Efficient Operation and Maintenance Community. This OSCAR Open Source Pioneer Day brought together the most cutting-edge open source projects from well-known Chinese companies. Open source enthusiasts finally had the opportunity to communicate with technical experts from well-known companies such as Alibaba, Huawei, Tencent, and Xiaomi. The interactive workshop was well received by the participants.
Main venue First, Mr. He Baohong, Director of the Cloud Computing and Big Data Research Institute of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, delivered a speech at the conference. Mr. He Baohong affirmed the efforts made by relevant companies in China's open source business and wished this Open Source Pioneer Day a complete success. ▼ Subsequently, Ms. Li Wei, Director of the Cloud Computing Department of the Cloud Computing and Big Data Research Institute of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and Executive Vice Chairman of OSCAR, delivered a speech entitled "OSCAR's Road to Open Source". Deputy Director Li Wei detailed OSCAR's efforts in promoting the development of China's open source ecosystem, and introduced the progress of related work and future plans. ▼ After Ms. Li Wei, let’s take a look at the open source projects that were unveiled at this event. China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and Tencent jointly announced the release of Tencent Zhiyun's "Metis" open source project. Zhiyun "Metis" is an intelligent operation and maintenance learning platform built based on Tencent's years of operation and maintenance internal scene integration. With the help of Metis, your AIOps can be used out of the box, and even without algorithm experts, AIOps can be easily implemented. ▼ This time, the Zhiyun Metis threshold-free intelligent monitoring and operation and maintenance learning software was open-sourced for the first time. Mr. Zhao Jianchun, Vice President of Tencent Cloud, gave us a detailed introduction. With Metis, operation and maintenance personnel no longer need to set monitoring thresholds. Through the algorithm output model, they can make intelligent judgments on abnormal situations. This threshold-free detection method can reduce the threshold maintenance costs of traditional detection methods and more efficiently protect the growing scale of business.
▼ Then, Huawei's open source projects were introduced. Liu Yanhua, Open Source Director of Huawei Cloud BU, gave us a detailed introduction to Huawei's open source history and related projects. Liu Bao, a member of the ServiceComb Project Management Committee and Huawei Cloud Microservice Architect, introduced ServiceComb, a one-stop open source microservice solution. He Luwei, Huawei Standards Engineer, then introduced Huawei's open source projects: "OpenSDS: Open and Secure Data Management Solution" and "How to Manage Heterogeneous Resources? Introduction to Cyborg Technology and Scenarios". ▼ Mr. Wang Chunyu, head of Tencent's open source, gave a speech titled "How to do open source in Tencent from the bottom up", which elaborated on Tencent's history and efforts in the field of open source over the years. Shan Zhihao, head of Tencent's TARS open source team, introduced Tencent's open source project TARS. Yang Wenbing, head of Tencent Blue Whale product operations, gave a speech titled "Introduction to Tencent Blue Whale Open & Open Source Projects".
▼ Then, Alibaba open source project related teams came on stage. On the difficult issue of how to build a million-scale container technology, Alibaba technical expert Sun Hongliang recommended PouchContainer, an open source, efficient, lightweight enterprise-level rich container engine technology. Alibaba technical expert Ding Lei introduced OpenMessaging, an international standard in Alibaba's distributed computing field.
▼ At the end of the main venue, Han Lincheng, director of the Peking University Open Source Software Association, gave a speech titled "Head first open source community"
▼ Tencent Open Source Workshop Yang Wenbing, head of product operations at Tencent Blue Whale, introduced to us how the Blue Whale open source project can help enterprises build an excellent CMDB, and how to design an enterprise-level CMDB. Chen Mingjie, a technical expert from Tencent TARS open source team, revealed to us the high-availability framework developed based on the Go language: TARS-GO. Mr. Wang Hua, senior engineer of Tencent and technical leader of Metis, then introduced the implementation principles and scenario applications of Metis intelligent operation and maintenance learning software.
▼ Huawei Open Source Workshop Liu Bao, a member of the ServiceComb Project Management Committee and Huawei Cloud Microservice Architect, introduced Huawei's one-stop open source microservice solution ServiceComb and Demo. He Luwei, a Huawei Standard Engineer, then introduced the high-performance storage cloud solution and the challenges of data management in the multi-cloud era and how Huawei responds to them.
▼ Open Source Governance Session In the open source governance session, Ms. Guo Xue, Director of Network Risk Management & Open Source Operations at the Cloud Computing and Big Data Research Institute of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, and Director of the Office of the Network Risk and Insurance Innovation Laboratory, gave a speech entitled "Guidelines for the Use of Open Source Licenses". The development of open source technology can, on the one hand, break through technical barriers and promote technological innovation, but on the other hand, it inevitably brings about a series of problems such as intellectual property rights and information security. Open source licenses can effectively protect the rights and interests of authors/right holders/contributors and users, and clarify the rights of users.
▼ Mr. Chen Yili, business director of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, then brought the "Reference for Selection of Open Source Container Cloud Platform"
▼ Mr. Zhang Liang, head of Xiaomi database operation and maintenance, shared with us Xiaomi's open source SQL optimization and rewriting tool: SOAR. IBM technical expert Guo Yingchun introduced the open source serverless computing platform Apache OpenWhisk. Mr. Shi Xuefeng, JD Engineering Efficiency Expert and DevOps Standard Core Writing Expert, gave a speech titled "Jenkins X: A New Generation CI/CD Platform Based on Kubernetes".
▼ Open source technology is developing rapidly. It is based on the pursuit of great concepts such as "freedom and sharing". The open source movement allows the software ecosystem to thrive. The code of open source software has been planted in the soil of China, and the spirit of open source is also needed. A towering tree with luxuriant branches and leaves cannot rely too much on the fertile water flowing into the fields of outsiders. This time, under the leadership of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and with the support of domestic well-known companies such as Alibaba, Huawei, Tencent, and Xiaomi, OSCAR Open Source Pioneer Day allowed the world to see China's open source power. Let us move forward hand in hand on the road of open source technology development. |
