Run, AI! Huawei Cloud China Tour tells you the story of AI and applications going hand in hand

[51CTO.com original article] In fairy tales, when you see the words "From then on, they lived happily together", it often means the end of the story. But outside of fairy tales, this means the beginning of a new stage, especially in the field of AI. Although all walks of life have opened their arms to embrace AI in recent years, how will AI finally land? Is it really valuable to users? What kind of AI do users need? These questions that go straight to the essence of AI applications are the focus of Huawei Cloud China Tour 2018. On July 24, in Beijing, despite heavy rain, more than a hundred participants still arrived at the "AI Cloud with Faith" site to listen to the story of AI and applications "joining hands".

Huawei Cloud is not a substitute for the company as it exports its capabilities in a different way

Zheng Yelai, President of Huawei Cloud BU, said in his speech at the site that Huawei Cloud has found that hybrid cloud is the most mainstream trend for large enterprises to migrate to the cloud in recent years, and artificial intelligence has brought changes to the Internet infrastructure. As the Internet infrastructure enters the 2.0 era, more professional hardware is needed to process massive data. For Huawei, it is actually just a change in the way the entire life cycle from chips to hardware and then to system design continues to be exported, and various previous capabilities are continued to be exported in the form of services, providing customers with stable, reliable, secure, trustworthy, and sustainable innovative cloud infrastructure. This is the essential reason why Huawei can smoothly launch its own cloud services and solutions and quickly gain recognition from industry users.

Zheng Yelai answered the sensitive question of whether Huawei Cloud will pose a threat to other competitors in the domestic public cloud market. He made it clear that Huawei has no intention of positioning itself as a substitute for existing suppliers, which is of no value to Huawei. Looking at Huawei's development history over the past few decades, although Huawei entered each industry the earliest, in the end, it is not about who runs faster, but who runs farther. Huawei's value lies in its insistence on providing customers with innovative product solutions. If Huawei is only regarded as a price substitute, this is obviously not the original intention of Huawei Cloud's "entry into the world". "Let's create the future together and share the benefits; let's work together to save investment and expenses and share the benefits." Zheng Yelai also emphasized that although every time manufacturers speak, they must talk about ecological construction, but whose ecology is being built and how to build their own ecological characteristics are the real issues that need to be considered.

Accelerating on the road of innovation

Jia Yongli, General Manager of Huawei Cloud EI Enterprise Intelligence Product Department, said that by the first half of 2018, Huawei Cloud had achieved a seven-fold increase in revenue and a 45% increase in the number of partners. In the application market, Huawei Cloud has added more than 870 applications, and has the largest market share in the enterprise market, government cloud market, and big data market. The ***Forrester report pointed out that Huawei Cloud has entered the top quadrant of public cloud.

At the scene, what people admired most was that Huawei Cloud had already used AI technology to help so many applications land. Jia Yongli gave many examples. For example, in the Internet application scenario, Huawei Cloud launched the EI intelligent video series service to help customers analyze, review and label video content. Based on Huawei Cloud EI intelligent video service, video scene recognition supports 365 indoor and outdoor scenes, with a Top5 accuracy of more than 90%; in industrial scenarios, Huawei Cloud uses artificial intelligence to adjust the compressor and sense the pressure of the pipeline, ultimately achieving a power saving of about 10%, saving a lot of electricity costs; in traffic scenarios, Huawei Cloud helped Beijing Shangdi Sanjie to implement the implementation of intelligent traffic lights, which can reduce congestion by 15% and increase vehicle speed by 15% through real-time monitoring of congestion.

Jia Yongli also launched a Multi Cloud hybrid cloud disaster recovery solution that can provide complete public cloud disaster recovery and backup. This solution is the first in China to cover the three major scenarios of cross-cloud backup, cross-cloud disaster recovery, and cloud disaster recovery, and provide complete public cloud backup and disaster recovery capabilities. He introduced that even if the data centers are thousands of kilometers apart, Huawei has the ability to switch all services over within hours. Now, Huawei Cloud has refined these capabilities and put them on the public cloud. It can realize disaster recovery for private clouds and public clouds, disaster recovery between public clouds, and even traditional array disaster recovery. In this way, enterprise CIOs will be very convenient and have more choices when designing enterprise cloud architecture.

At the beginning of his speech, Jia Yongli also shared Huawei Cloud's understanding of AI. He believes that artificial intelligence is not a privilege for large enterprises, and Huawei Cloud hopes that more enterprises can not only afford it but also use it well and with confidence. It is understood that Huawei Cloud's overall EI architecture is a cloud-edge-end architecture. In other words, Huawei Cloud can coordinate cloud-edge-end processing and can truly distribute the trained model to where it is needed, so as to truly connect it.

At the event, many Huawei industry customers and ecological partners shared the "story after joining hands". Feng Feiyan, founder of China Gallery, shared how Huawei Cloud uses AI technology to protect intellectual property rights and protect originality; Zhang Qixun, a teacher at the School of Software and Microelectronics of Peking University, introduced how the school and Huawei built a course teaching resource library based on the Huawei Cloud DevCloud platform to provide a demonstration for more universities; Wang Changxin, CEO of Yunlu Technology, directly stated that Yunlu Technology's SaaS layer applications have always grown on the basis of Huawei Cloud's PaaS layer; Dr. Yu Fuli, Chief Information Officer of Berry Genomics, said in his speech that they are planning a vision with Huawei Cloud to empower the medical and health field based on Huawei Cloud's "black soil". Yu Fuli summarized in his speech that if Huawei is black soil, its partners are a red plum, absorbing nutrients from the soil, with a long-lasting foundation and mutual benefit.
