Huawei launches innovative Enterprise Intelligence (EI) for the first time HUAWEI CLOUD is committed to achieving new value

Today, at the first day plenary session of HUAWEI CONNECT 2017, Zheng Yelai, President of Huawei Cloud BU and President of IT Product Line, comprehensively introduced the business progress of Huawei Cloud and released the innovative Enterprise Intelligence (EI) for the enterprise market for the first time.

The digital transformation of enterprises based on cloud computing has developed to the value creation stage. Only clouds that help customers continuously create new value are promising clouds. AI is now almost universally recognized by the industry as an engine for mining value gold mines, but AI research and application are still more scattered on single-point technologies, and cannot meet the needs of many enterprises, especially large and medium-sized enterprises, for complex production systems such as supply chain, manufacturing, and business management.

Zheng Yelai said: "The best cloud service is one that adapts to the customer. If AI is to create more value for enterprises, these scattered single-point technologies must be integrated and applied to complex enterprise scenarios. Huawei Cloud is positioned as an enabler of the intelligent society, integrating basic capabilities such as AI, IoT, computing, and storage to provide innovative enterprise intelligent cloud services, and open up Huawei's basic research results and practical experience accumulated over the years to governments, enterprises, partners, and developers."

At this conference, Huawei first released innovative Enterprise Intelligence (EI), including three types of enterprise intelligent cloud services and a heterogeneous computing platform.

Basic platform services: including machine learning, deep learning, graph computing, as well as AI training, reasoning, and retrieval platforms.

General services: including API services in the fields of vision, speech, natural language, etc.

Scenario solutions: Focusing on the industry, we work with partners to create scenario solutions based on technologies such as AI, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things.

Heterogeneous computing platform: Huawei enables the above three types of intelligent services with its basic R&D capabilities in system engineering, chips, hardware, basic software, etc. accumulated over the years, allowing computing power to unleash the beauty of algorithms.

Huawei uses enterprise intelligence (EI) to optimize the end-to-end process of its global supply chain, connecting all links from supply forecasting to logistics, warehousing to customs declaration, transportation, and receipt, to achieve intelligent transformation of logistics. EI is used to achieve intelligent packing, providing the best packing solution based on the characteristics of the goods, and achieving 3D simulation visualization of the container, which increases the overall utilization rate by 6%. In the customs declaration stage, EI is applied to customs compliance analysis, and based on historical data and exchange rate changes, early warning is issued when customs data is abnormal, achieving one-time customs declaration and reducing the risk of goods backlog for enterprises. In the warehousing stage, EI is used to achieve intelligent warehousing, such as designing the best goods placement classification, optimizing the delivery path and storage space, and increasing Huawei's warehousing operation efficiency by 10%.

Mr. Yang Xiaoling, Chief Digital Officer of China Pacific Insurance Group, said in his speech at the conference: Taking health insurance claims as an example, the introduction of OCR image recognition technology allows customers to upload medical invoices with their mobile phones, and the backend automatically recognizes the invoice photos through algorithms, automatically generates structured settlement texts, and supports subsequent payment processing. This can reduce the manual operation costs of claims by more than 50%. China Pacific Insurance Group looks forward to strengthening cooperation with Huawei in the fields of image recognition and deep learning capabilities, and providing solutions for the insurance industry's rich customer resources and application scenarios.

Li Qiang, director of the Science and Technology Department of the Shenzhen Traffic Police Bureau, introduced Shenzhen's leading experience in the field of urban smart transportation. With the support of Huawei, the artificial intelligence platform can pre-screen violation pictures, which can improve the screening efficiency by about 10 times. The smart transportation solution jointly created by the two parties won the "2017 Road Traffic Safety Innovation Product Award" awarded by the China Road Traffic Safety Association.

As one of Huawei's partner public clouds, Orange Business Services CEO Thierry Bonhomme shared Orange's latest progress in the field of cloud services.

At the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), the public cloud services provided by Huawei and Deutsche Telekom support the research work of the world's top scientists. With the support of thousands of high-performance computing nodes provided by Huawei, the overall operation and maintenance costs of CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experimental project have been reduced by 2/3, and the online cycle has been shortened from 90 days to 15 days.

Zheng Yelai also elaborated on Huawei Cloud's trustworthy and open philosophy, and its commitment to becoming a neutral service provider. Since the establishment of Huawei Cloud BU in March 2017, Huawei Cloud's user growth rate has reached 238%, and 40 new cloud services including data warehouse, high-defense DDoS, and CDN have been released, bringing the total number to 85, with a total of more than 4,500 features.

At this conference, Huawei Cloud officially launched its new domain name www.huaweicloud.com.

HUAWEI CONNECT 2017, Huawei's annual global flagship conference for the ICT industry, was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center from September 5 to 7, 2017. The theme of this conference was "Grow with the Cloud", aiming to build a global sharing platform for open cooperation and discuss with customers and partners how to achieve new growth through digitalization.
