Driven by the wave of informatization, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia, has firmly grasped the historical opportunities of the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei and the rapid rise of the cloud computing industry, vigorously implemented the big data development strategy, and made cloud computing and its related industries as strategic industries to be introduced and supported. It has also planned an information industry park covering an area of ​​13 square kilometers in the Chahar Economic and Technological Development Zone, and strived to cultivate the information industry with cloud computing as its core as one of the pillar industries. In 2014, Ulanqab City and Huawei signed the "Cloud Computing Data Center Cooperation Agreement" to jointly build the Ulanqab Cloud Data Center, which will undertake Huawei Cloud's business in the North China region and strive to become the cloud computing industry support center in the North China region, the national and even global cloud service business acceptance center, and the national cloud service business backup center.

The Ulanqab Huawei Cloud Data Center is located to the west of the Information Industry Park in the Chahar Development Zone and to the south of National Highway 110. The planned land area of ​​the Information Industry Park is about 5 square kilometers. As the start-up project and core project of the Ulanqab Information Industry Park, the total construction area of ​​the first phase of the Ulanqab Huawei Cloud Data Center is 24,000 square meters. It is the largest cloud service data center of Huawei in North China. It consists of 46 micro-module computer rooms, 1,600 cabinets, and adopts a Tier3+ system architecture. The data center will deploy more than 15,000 IT devices and build a huge cloud platform resource pool based on these devices, including 200,000 cloud hosts, 100 PB cloud storage, and 100,000 desktops.

In response to the requirements of the Ulanqab Municipal Government, Huawei provides modular data center solutions from three levels: reliability, efficiency, and simplicity, meeting requirements such as rapid deployment, high reliability, and green energy saving.

l Modular data center solution adopts factory prefabrication and has a construction period of 6 months, which saves 30% of construction time compared with traditional methods. It can be deployed on demand to support the elastic growth of cloud computing.

l Huawei's high-efficiency UPS, large-capacity UPS parallel, 2N power supply configuration, and N+1 redundant configuration of oil generators are used to ensure the reliability of the data center's power supply system; the UPS efficiency is as high as 96%, laying a good foundation for green data centers. The industry's unique wireless battery monitoring technology is used to monitor key parameters such as battery voltage, internal resistance, and temperature in real time to achieve fault prediction and eliminate the risk of fire.

l Row-level air conditioning is used to provide on-demand cooling, which improves energy efficiency by 30%. Advanced energy efficiency management technology monitors data center energy efficiency indicators in real time, and provides intelligent energy efficiency optimization suggestions. The PUE is as low as 1.35, allowing the data center to operate efficiently. The inter-row level horizontal air supply closed cold channel solution effectively isolates hot and cold air, and can achieve mixed deployment of modules with different power densities to meet green data center standards.

The intelligent and simple NetEco management platform can effectively manage data center infrastructure, effectively reduce operation and maintenance costs, and make data center resources visible and manageable; digital technology cloud management and control can improve the operating efficiency of the data center by 50%.

At present, cloud computing services have been gradually recognized and accepted by various commissions, bureaus and public institutions in Ulanqab, and have been used first in many departments such as municipal units in the city.
