Tianyi Cloud's transformation and upgrading provides cloud services that are most in line with customer needs

On June 30, 2016, China Telecom and Huawei officially jointly released the newly upgraded products and services of Tianyi Cloud. Tianyi Cloud has been continuously investing in product development and service innovation. This time, in cooperation with Huawei, a company with strong technical strength, it has made a new upgrade in the performance of core products and services. In the past year, what has Tianyi Cloud, with its overall improved capabilities, delivered?

Focus on improving comprehensive capabilities in the first year

On December 28, 2015, Huawei and China Telecom signed a strategic cooperation agreement on joint operations of public clouds.

On June 30, 2016, China Telecom Tianyi Cloud was completely upgraded.

In the second half of 2016, Tianyi Cloud focused on improving its comprehensive capabilities and made concentrated breakthroughs in the service and business fields.

On the one hand, we increased investment in resource pool construction. In line with the overall strategic layout of Tianyi Cloud's resource nodes, in the second half of 2016, Tianyi Cloud launched four nodes in Fuzhou, Guizhou, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou, supplementing and expanding the original resource node capabilities. On the other hand, China Telecom and Huawei further deepened their cooperation and further sorted out the cooperation process. They held a number of benchmarking meetings on industry solutions, market brands, and product operations and maintenance, sorted out and formulated a more detailed cooperation framework, and initially started market expansion.

In addition to its concentrated appearance at the "2016 Huawei Full Connect Conference (HCC2016)" in September last year, along with the launch of the Fuzhou node, in November 2016, Tianyi Cloud immediately launched marketing expansion in key areas such as Fujian, Guangdong, and Zhejiang, and held Tianyi Cloud press conferences in many provinces and cities, focusing on displaying and promoting its own major distinctive capabilities and overall strategy to enhance Tianyi Cloud's brand influence.

In 2017, Tianyi Cloud entered the fast lane of development

Entering 2017, after 10 years of experience and accumulation, the cloud service market has undergone rapid changes in terms of customer entities, demand entities, service models and development stages. At the just-concluded 9th China Cloud Computing Conference, Xu Shoufeng, deputy general manager of China Telecom Cloud Computing Company, said that cloud is an important enabler of the intelligent society, and Tianyi Cloud, as a cloud service provider, is actively exploring a cloud computing path suitable for the Chinese market.

On the one hand, it is the strategic layout of the resource pool. People who are familiar with the background of Tianyi Cloud know that in 2012, China Telecom Cloud Computing Company was established and immediately started intensive operations. As the first representative of domestic operators to enter the cloud computing market, China Telecom kicked off the prelude to operators joining the cloud service market. As it has extensive network infrastructure resources, Tianyi Cloud has performed outstandingly in terms of network coverage and timely response capabilities since its launch. At that time, Tianyi Cloud established a "4+2" cloud data center layout plan, hoping to quickly radiate the widest range of users through Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Sichuan and other regions.

In 2014, Tianyi Cloud readjusted its cloud computing resource pool layout based on its exploration and accumulation of market experience, changing from the original "4+2" to "8+2+X". The 8 refers to the eight regional centers in Northeast China, North China, East China, Southeast China, South China, Southwest China, Northwest China and Central China; the 2 refers to the two green cloud data centers in Inner Mongolia and Guizhou; and the X refers to the on-demand deployment based on actual customer needs. It can be seen that China Telecom's ability to respond to customer needs on demand is rapidly improving.

In 2017, China Telecom Tianyi Cloud first proposed the "2+31+X" strategic layout. In addition to the two super-large cloud bases in Inner Mongolia and Guizhou, it officially launched a plan to deploy resource pools to 31 provinces. In conjunction with the private cloud, CDN and other X nodes that have been deployed in cities, Tianyi Cloud's cloud service products will be closer to user needs in terms of resource capabilities, and network latency will be reduced to a minimum, so that users can get the best experience. According to statistics, as of now, Tianyi Cloud has added 5 nodes in Shandong, Henan, Gansu, Shaanxi and Jiangsu in 2017. Together with the 4 nodes launched in 2016, 9 resource pools have been deployed in China. In addition, Tianyi Cloud plans to launch 8 nodes in Beijing, Shanghai, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangxi, Xinjiang and Sichuan by the end of the year, and the 5 nodes under planning and construction include Gansu, Yunnan, Hainan, Chongqing and Hubei.

On the other hand, it is business expansion. With the evolution of the cloud service market, customers' demands for timely response to pre-sales and after-sales services are constantly increasing. Email response, instant messaging response, telephone response, and face-to-face response give customers completely different feelings. In this era where customer experience is king, enterprise-level customers have also put forward higher demands on the business support capabilities of cloud service providers.

In order to better consolidate the overall business development capabilities of Tianyi Cloud, China Telecom Group and provincial and municipal branches have been conducting comprehensive capability docking and joint development between the group and regional company teams in the field of cloud services since the beginning of 2017. Led by the cloud company, a total of only 1,000 business empowerment training sessions were organized for the group's subsidiaries in various regions, with a cumulative impact of 10,000 people. Through 60,000 account managers and 80,000 technical personnel with enterprise-level professional service levels and experience throughout the country to fully support customer business, we have created a comprehensive business service system where "everyone understands cloud computing and everyone can sell cloud computing", providing customers with the best experience of localized full-life cycle services. "Intimate service and front-line support" has become one of Tianyi Cloud's winning magic weapons for developing the cloud computing market.

Based on this, Tianyi Cloud has achieved remarkable results in terms of customer expansion. According to internal statistics, as of mid-June 2017, Tianyi Cloud has hosted thousands of customers and established industry benchmark cases such as Sinotrans, Zhongshan Heizi Technology, and Fujian Communist Youth League.

Among them, the Zhongshan Intelligent Product Public Service Platform was jointly built by the Zhongshan Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology and Heizi Information Technology (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. based on Tianyi Cloud and Huawei NB-IoT modules. With the platform and technical support of Tianyi Cloud, Heizi Technology quickly realized the cloud-based platform capabilities, transformed the traditional software sales method into an on-demand service SaaS model, built a new industrial cloud SaaS platform, and reshaped the business model. In addition, through the "intelligent pipeline + cloud computing + NB-IoT technology" model to seize the core entrance and build an ecosystem together, a new "government + operator + technology service provider" strategic cooperation model has been created, which has become the best practice to drive the transformation of the manufacturing industry and has great promotion value.

Three differentiated advantages create cloud services that best meet the needs of government and enterprise customers

"Cloud-network integration, exclusive customization, and security and reliability" are the three differentiated advantages of Tianyi Cloud. These three capabilities provide strong support for Tianyi Cloud to provide cloud services that are most in line with the needs of government and enterprise customers.

With the development of cloud technology, traditional basic Internet networks can no longer meet customer needs in terms of quality, performance, and security assurance. With the vigorous development of new business formats such as live broadcast, on-demand, games, and artificial intelligence, customers have higher requirements for the network capabilities of cloud services, and the choice of cloud access methods is gradually diversifying. As a representative of operator cloud services, Tianyi Cloud is naturally equipped with advantages in network basic capabilities. With cloud-network integration capabilities, Tianyi Cloud has become the industry's "network that understands cloud best and cloud that understands network best." Through the DCI dedicated backbone network, it helps customers achieve high-speed interconnection between clouds, and the full network resource coverage of 31 provinces and cities makes cloud services close to customers, and customers can freely choose the best cloud service hosting location.

Exclusive customization is one of the three major differentiated capabilities of Tianyi Cloud. Different from public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud, the exclusive cloud provided by Tianyi Cloud can provide customers with public cloud services in the form of "private cloud". Exclusive cloud not only solves the security and performance demands of large government and enterprise customers, but also solves the hidden dangers of competition, interference and even attacks in the public resource pool that current public cloud users are more worried about. Tianyi Cloud uses exclusive computing, storage and network to build a "Tianyi Cloud" for customers, which has both the isolation of private cloud and the flexibility of public cloud.

At this stage, the importance of data to commercial organizations is self-evident, and data damage will undoubtedly bring huge losses to enterprises. Not long ago, the Wannacry ransomware virus ravaged the world, and Tianyi Cloud's rapid response and security protection capabilities left a deep impression on the industry. As a "national team" of cloud service providers, Tianyi Cloud always defends the data security of customers and promises never to touch user data, so that users can feel more at ease to host their IT systems on China Telecom's cloud services. Only in this way can the cloud become a public facility like water and electricity.

In 2017, Tianyi Cloud rethought its own positioning, shifting from providing cloud security products to building a secure cloud, and moving forward around the theme of secure cloud. In terms of products and services, Tianyi Cloud's cloud product service system currently has deployment capabilities. At the product level, Tianyi Cloud can provide cloud dikes for network security, cloud barriers for system security, and related services for cloud security. In terms of the operating system, Tianyi Cloud's self-developed cloud platform has a multi-availability zone design, a five-star computer room, dual-active, disaster recovery, and backup capabilities. It has also passed EAL3, trusted cloud services, ISO27001, and security level 3 certification.

Cloud + Ecosystem Builds a Better Future

As the national team of cloud services, injecting new industrial impetus into Internet+, and an outstanding representative of operator cloud services... Tianyi Cloud has been adorned with many halos since its launch.

According to the data of "2016 China Public Cloud IaaS Market Share" released by IDC, China Telecom Tianyi Cloud ranks second in the market. Obviously, with the combination of China Telecom's network and IDC's resource advantages and years of operational experience in serving government and enterprise customers, plus Huawei's R&D, service capabilities and innovative ICT solutions, Tianyi Cloud has achieved improvements in resource capabilities, business development, product functions, etc. after the new upgrade.

With the gradual participation of partners from all parties in the industry chain, Tianyi Cloud will create a three-dimensional "cloud + ecology" platform. In the future, it intends to work with partners to build a more dynamic cloud service ecosystem and expand a larger cloud service market. In September this year, Tianyi Cloud will hold the "Partner Ecosystem Conference", and ecological chain partners from all over the country will attend. What strategic cooperation plans will be revealed at this conference? What strategic plans does Tianyi Cloud have for its own ecological construction? The exciting content is worth looking forward to!
