The African Development Bank has recently provided a total of 43.9 million euros (about 320 million yuan) in funding to support the construction of the Niger section of the Trans-Saharan Backbone network. Specifically, the funds include 12.5 million euros (about 90.7 million yuan) in aid and 31.4 million euros (about 230 million yuan) in loans. The Pan-Sahara fiber optic backbone network aims to connect Niger, Chad, Nigeria, Algeria (Phase I) and Mali (Phase II), while strengthening cross-border fiber optic network connections with Benin and Burkina Faso, thereby further improving the quality of Internet connectivity in Sub-Saharan Africa. |
