From East-West Computing to Computing-Network Integration, Mobile Cloud Empowers New Digital Development

With the booming development of the digital economy and the full launch of the "East Data West Computing" project, computing power has become ubiquitous and has become a new productivity. The construction of a new computing network system integrating data centers, cloud computing, and big data has and will face a major trend of "computing network integration."

On April 26, the online live broadcast event of "Computing Network Integration, Innovative Development - Mobile Cloud Technology Appreciation Conference" was successfully held. The event was hosted by China Mobile Cloud Capability Center, and invited many industry experts to conduct in-depth discussions on the construction of new digital information infrastructure for mobile cloud, integrated computing network integration development, and the layout and development planning of cloud terminal lines based on the promotion of the national strategy of "Eastern Data and Western Computing". The event also released the "Blue Paper on Mobile Cloud Computing Network Ecology and Mobile Cloud Industry Ecology Incubation Center", which explained the brand core of the Mobile Cloud Industry Ecology Incubation Center and focused on building a large computing network ecology.

Improve the layout and tackle new computing network technologies

China Mobile's computing network uses the network as the core for information exchange and computing power as the core for information data processing, with the goal of building an efficient, flexible and agile computing infrastructure to promote the close integration of computing power and the network. Qian Ling, chief expert at China Mobile Group level and general manager of the Technology Department/Innovation Center of China Mobile's Cloud Capability Center, said that Mobile Cloud is an important part of China Mobile's implementation of the national "East Data West Computing" policy. With the help of China Mobile's fully upgraded 5G private network, cloud resource layout, cloud-network integrated upgrade strategy and industry application capabilities, it continues to evolve towards a computing network in terms of resource layout, technical foundation, four-in-one services, cloud-network collaboration and other aspects.

According to Qian Ling, Mobile Cloud has started from many aspects to lay the foundation for computing network. In terms of resources, Mobile Cloud has increased the distribution of resources in the east and west, and built Mobile Cloud edge nodes. It is expected to cover 100% of provinces this year and 100% of cities next year. In terms of technical architecture, it continues to promote the implementation of large-scale high-availability scheduling within AZ, scheduling within the region and between AZs, and at the same time research new architectures of computing network to achieve comprehensive collaborative scheduling of cloud, network, edge and terminal. In terms of technical capabilities, it continues to promote the optimization and integration of cloud-network collaboration, promote the evolution of Mobile Cloud to cloud-network integration, and "integrate data and intelligence" to provide a technical foundation for the research of computing network brain. In addition, Mobile Cloud also pays more attention to the research and digital transformation of new technologies in the industry, and has laid out the achievements of new technologies such as cloud native, diversified computing power, blockchain and the reserve of technical talents, which will play an important role in the field of computing network in the future.

China Mobile responds to the country's new infrastructure and East-West computing with computing power networks. When talking about how the mobile cloud will be laid out to welcome the future of the network, Qian Ling mentioned:

1. Grasp national policies, build a computing network, and achieve ubiquitous integration;

2. Improve the layout of mobile cloud resources and move towards a computing network architecture with dynamic scheduling of cloud, network, edge and end;

3. Research and develop new computing network technologies to complement the core capabilities of mobile cloud.

Focus on precision and cultivate a diverse computing power ecosystem

Mobile Cloud's development concept revolves around computing power layout, focusing on the thinking and practice of cloud terminal products in supporting the ubiquitous service form of computing power network. Based on Mobile Cloud's existing accumulation and challenges, it proposes new concepts for evolving towards computing power network from the perspectives of cloud native technology platform, cloud native database, cloud native data lake, etc.

Mobile Cloud has initially built a cloud storage product system around diverse storage needs. Guo Jiannan, assistant general manager of the IaaS product department of China Mobile's Cloud Capability Center, mentioned in his keynote speech on "Building a new generation of computing network storage capabilities for "East Data West Computing, East Data West Storage" that in the future, Mobile Cloud will focus on computing power networks, continue to enhance storage performance and improve product competitiveness, promote the evolution of the entire storage product series based on the cross-domain error correction and deletion capabilities of object storage, realize cross-domain data circulation, support intelligent stratification of hot and cold data, break down the "storage wall", connect "data islands", and create a green and energy-saving data center where "data is readily available".

For cloud native, the arrival of computing power network extends the boundaries of cloud native. Cloud native defines the open form of computing power. The combination of the two enables full-stack collaboration among cloud, network, edge, and end architectures. Based on Mobile Cloud's understanding of computing power network requirements, Li Li, a senior expert at the PaaS Product Department of China Mobile's Cloud Capability Center, analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of current cloud native technology in supporting the development and evolution of computing power network from the perspective of cloud native technology implementation, thus proposing new challenges and requirements for the development direction of cloud native.

The computing network is a new integrated service that uses computing power as a carrier and integrates multiple factors. The rapid development of the computing network has promoted the continuous cloud evolution of products that require low latency, high computing power, and high bandwidth. Zhong Yang, a senior expert in the SaaS product department of China Mobile's Cloud Capability Center, focused on introducing the layout and development plan of Mobile Cloud in the cloud terminal line in his keynote speech "Cloud Integration, Making Computing Power Available Everywhere", pointing out that cloud terminal applications are typical application forms of external output of computing networks. Through multi-terminal connection to multi-form computing power in the cloud, they are widely used in mobile office, home entertainment, video rendering and other scenarios, providing users with "one-point access, ready-to-use" computing services.

Mobile Cloud will fully tap the potential advantages of "Eastern Data and Western Computing", accelerate the establishment and improvement of computing network resource access and integrated scheduling mechanism, and build a "computing network brain". Zhi Minhui, a senior expert of the Cloud Network Department of China Mobile's Cloud Capability Center, said that the "computing network brain" realizes the integration of computing network resources in all fields downward, and realizes the full business support of computing network integration upward, integrates artificial intelligence and big data technologies, realizes unified arrangement, scheduling, management, and operation and maintenance of computing networks, and creates the ability of integrated design, global arrangement, flexible scheduling, and efficient optimization of computing network resources.

With the goal of building new infrastructure in the smart era and constructing social-level services like hydropower, computing networks are still facing many conflicts and challenges in existing technologies and operations. Shen Linjiang, deputy general manager of Inspur Communication Information Systems Co., Ltd., mentioned in his speech that in order to achieve multi-factor integration and integrated supply, it is urgent to cross the gap, solve the dilemma, and build a new model and framework for computing network operations. At the same time, Inspur will work with Mobile Cloud to implement multi-stack and multi-category scenarios and jointly promote the initiative of computing network operators.

The Mobile Cloud Industry Ecosystem Incubation Center is a mobile cloud innovation incubation carrier that was significantly upgraded in 2022.
