China Mobile's 5G messaging digital RMB wallet goes online

On October 8, China Mobile and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China jointly completed the digital RMB wallet based on 5G messaging and officially launched it. China Mobile became the first operator to apply digital RMB in 5G messaging, laying the foundation for building a digital RMB application ecosystem based on 5G messaging.

Swedish court allows Huawei to appeal 5G ban

On October 11, the Swedish Administrative Court issued an announcement allowing Huawei to appeal the ban on its products from entering the country's 5G network. On June 22 this year, the Swedish court, the Stockholm Administrative Court, ruled to maintain the Huawei 5G ban. This makes Sweden the second country in Europe after the United Kingdom and the first country in the European Union to explicitly ban Huawei from participating in almost all network infrastructure required for 5G networks.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology confirmed that my country has more than one million 5G base stations

Han Xia, chief engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said at a press conference in Beijing on October 18 that China currently has more than 1 million 5G base stations, and new key network technologies such as end-to-end network slicing have been implemented at a faster pace, and the world's largest independent 5G network has been built. China's 5G base stations account for 70% of the world's total, and its 5G connections account for more than 80% of the world's total, far ahead of other countries.

More than 1,800 "5G+Industrial Internet" projects

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revealed that there are currently more than 1,800 "5G+Industrial Internet" projects under construction across the country. New models and new business forms such as platform design, intelligent manufacturing, networked collaboration, personalized customization, service extension, and digital management are accelerating their extension to 40 major categories of the national economy. Significant results have been achieved in industries such as mining, electronic equipment manufacturing, equipment manufacturing, steel, and electricity, forming 10 typical application scenarios and accelerating the transformation of traditional industries.

Beijing has built 47,000 5G base stations

On October 20, the Beijing Municipal Communications Administration disclosed that as of September, the city had built 47,000 5G base stations, not only setting a new record, but also basically completing the city's 5G network coverage. Next, the Municipal Communications Administration will continue to strengthen the construction of 5G network infrastructure, shifting from large-scale construction and wide coverage to key construction and deep coverage to meet the differentiated needs of the industry and enhance the 5G empowerment effect.

Henan Mobile and Shanghai Nokia sign 5G network construction agreement

On October 21, at the 2021 Digital Economy Summit and New Smart City Conference, Henan Mobile and Shanghai Nokia Bell signed the "700M 5G Network Construction Agreement". The two parties will further deepen cooperation on the basis of consolidating previous cooperation, give full play to their advantages in technology, network, resources, etc., and accelerate the construction of 700M 5G base stations in Henan Province.

Jiangsu ranks second in the country in terms of the total number of 5G base stations

On October 22, the Jiangsu Provincial Communications Administration learned that by the end of September, the total number of 5G base stations in Jiangsu had reached 102,000, ranking second in the country. 5G signals cover 100% of county towns and 99% of townships, and 744,000 10G passive optical network ports have been deployed, ranking first in the country in terms of network infrastructure capabilities.

my country completes 5G satellite access networking communication test

On October 22, at the 2021 China Radio Conference, Wang Ke, an associate professor at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, delivered a keynote speech entitled "Satellite Internet Construction in the 5G Era", pointing out that satellite Internet integrated with ground-based 5G/6G networks is an inevitable trend for future development. Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications has experimentally verified for the first time the low-orbit satellite access networking and end-to-end reliable information transmission under the 3GPP 5G standard protocol framework.

Hainan aims to add 12,000 new 5G base stations in the next three years

In order to promote the integrated development of new-generation information technology and manufacturing, strengthen the aggregation of data elements, advance the construction of Hainan's industrial Internet system, and support the high-quality development of the province's industrial economy, Hainan recently issued the "Hainan Province Three-Year Action Plan to Accelerate the Innovation and Development of the Industrial Internet (2021-2023)", which plans to strive to deploy 12,000 new 5G base stations from 2021 to 2023, and basically achieve outdoor wide-area coverage throughout the province.
