Since 5G was officially launched for commercial use in 2019, the development of 5G around the world has entered a fast lane and has achieved remarkable results. In my country, 792,000 5G base stations have been built and put into operation, connecting 260 million 5G mobile terminals, not only achieving 5G network coverage in all prefecture-level cities, but also initially building the world's largest 5G mobile network.
In this context, accelerating 5G applications is becoming an important goal for my country's next stage of development. As early as 2020, the government work report included "expanding 5G applications" and proposed accelerating the exploration and development of "5G+". The integrated application of 5G has become a key engine for promoting the digitalization, networking, and intelligent transformation of the economy and society. On April 30, 2021, in order to vigorously promote 5G applications, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also drafted and compiled the "5G Application "Sailing" Action Plan (2021-2023)", and made it public from May 1 to 7 to widely listen to the opinions of the public. Next, let's take a look at what the 5G Application "Sailing" Action Plan is specifically about. It is understood that the overall goal of the 5G application "Sailing" action plan is to: The 5G personal user penetration rate exceeds 40%, and the number of users exceeds 560 million; the proportion of 5G network access traffic exceeds 50%; there are more than 18 5G base stations per 10,000 people, and more than 3,000 5G industry virtual private networks have been built; the average annual growth rate of 5G IoT terminal users exceeds 200%; the 5G application penetration rate of large industrial enterprises exceeds 35%; each key industry will create more than 100 5G demonstration application benchmarks; form more than 100 5G application solutions; develop more than 30 key industry standards; create 10-20 5G application security innovation demonstration centers, and establish 3-5 regional demonstration benchmarks. To achieve these goals, we need to break through the key links of 5G applications and empower key areas of 5G applications. In summary, eight major actions are implemented:
At the same time, the implementation of the action must adhere to the principles of demand-driven, innovation-driven, and key breakthroughs, and it cannot be separated from the measures of overall coordination, environmental optimization, talent cultivation, international cooperation, and monitoring and evaluation. |
