Which 5G package is the best? Each of the three has its own advantages. You should choose based on your actual usage needs.

5G network has many advantages such as high speed and low latency, and many friends are eager to try it. However, they don't know enough about the 5G package rates and actual usage of the three major operators, so it may be difficult to choose. In fact, which operator and which package to choose mainly depends on your own needs. Let me analyze the 5G situation of the three major operators.

1. Comparison of package rates

①, China Mobile

China Mobile's 5G package rates are divided into 6 levels in total, as shown in the figure below.

From the package rates in the above picture, the lowest data unit price is the 589 package, which is 2.95 yuan/G. The second lowest is the 199 package, which is 3.32 yuan/G. For ordinary consumers, the total price of the 589 package is too expensive and basically belongs to the rich. The 199 package should be the most cost-effective. Therefore, if you choose China Mobile, the 199 package is the most cost-effective.

②, China Telecom

China Telecom’s 5G package rates have one more tier than China Mobile’s, with a total of seven tiers, as shown in the figure below.

From the above figure, the lowest price for data traffic is the 599 package, which is 1.99 yuan/GB. But this total price is too expensive, and it is basically used by the rich. The more practical packages are 169, 199, and 239. The 199 yuan package is comparable to China Mobile. The unit price is also 3.32 yuan/GB, and the number of phone minutes is 400 more than that of China Mobile. It is still more advantageous than China Mobile in terms of price.

③. China Unicom

China Unicom’s 5G tariff packages are also divided into 7 levels, details are as follows.

From the tariffs in the above figure, China Unicom has a discount in the first year, and the original price will be restored after the second year. Here, we calculate it according to the original price. From the original price, its pricing is very similar to that of China Telecom, only the 159 package is different from the 169 package of Telecom. It has been reduced by 10 yuan, but the call time has been reduced by 100 minutes. If it is compared with China Mobile's 199 package, its original price is the same as Telecom, and it will be a little cheaper than Telecom after the one-year discount.

2. Comparison of network coverage

As of the end of June 2020, China Mobile has opened 188,000 5G base stations in more than 50 cities in China and has provided commercial services. China Telecom currently has more than 200,000 base stations in the entire network, some of which are jointly built and shared with China Unicom. China Unicom, including the part jointly built and shared with China Telecom, has a total of 210,000 5G base stations.

In terms of the number of base stations, China Mobile has 188,000 base stations exclusively. China Telecom and China Unicom have some base stations built and shared. Overall, China Mobile's base station processing capacity should be the best, and the signal should also be the best. China Telecom and China Unicom should not be on par. From the actual use point of view, China Telecom seems to be better than China Unicom.

Summarize

In summary, based on the package charges and network conditions of the three major operators: Considering the 5G experience, it is more cost-effective to choose China Mobile's 199 yuan package. Considering the 5G experience and the call duration, China Telecom's 169-239 packages are more cost-effective. Considering the 5G experience, the call duration, and the highest discount, China Unicom's 159-239 packages are more cost-effective.
