At the 2020 Unisoc Market Summit held in Shanghai recently, a senior executive of China Unicom said: "The current penetration rate of 5G mobile phones exceeds 62%, which means that for every 100 mobile phones sold, 62 are 5G phones." At the same time, this year is the second year of 5G operation, and it will be the end of the year in a blink of an eye. In theory, the 5G network speed should be stable, but what about in reality?

On major social platforms, many users have mixed opinions after switching to 5G phones. For example, some people joked: "Currently, the penetration rate of 5G phones exceeds 62%, but the network speed is slower than 4G"; others said: "After upgrading to a 5G package, the network speed is slower than my grandma's walking speed when the signal is full, and the data usage is very fast, but small videos cannot be loaded. What's going on?"

In fact, the reason why the 5G mobile phone has a slower speed than the 4G network is because of the 5G anchor point principle. That is to say, although the 5G mobile phone displays the 5G logo, it actually uses the 4G channel. This is because 5G technology is divided into NSA (non-independent networking) and SA (independent networking). NSA is the 5G technology that uses the 4G channel, and SA independent networking 5G networks are quite rare, so the 5G network speed is temporarily not as fast as 4G. It should get better in the future.
