LinkSure Network attended the International World Wide Web Conference (WWW2017) and published a paper

From April 3rd to April 7th, the International World Wide Web Conference (WWW2017) was held in Perth, Australia. Dr. Xu Chang, a data scientist at LinkSure Network, and Dr. Zhang Guiyu, a leading scientist from Singapore, attended the conference and published a poster paper to share their results of using deep learning in hotspot classification with technical experts from all over the world. This was also the first time that LinkSure Network entered the hall of a leading academic conference. In addition, many internationally renowned companies also sent delegations to study, including Facebook, Alibaba, Huawei Research Institute, etc.

The results shared by LinkSure Network at this International World Wide Web Conference are based on the massive user and hotspot data output of its product WiFi***Key. As of June 2016, the number of WiFi***Key users has exceeded 900 million, the number of monthly active users has exceeded 520 million, and the number of hotspots has exceeded 400 million. Dr. Zhang Guiyu has served as LinkSure Network's Chief Scientist in Singapore since January 2016, and has led the team to conduct in-depth research in this field.

Relying on the big data of WiFi hotspot keys, LinkSure Networks has proposed a new classification algorithm based on deep learning and spectrum analysis for hundreds of millions of WiFi hotspots. The algorithm only uses the characteristics of users connecting to hotspots in different time periods to identify the application scenarios of hotspots, such as restaurants, homes, and units. Convolutional Neural Networks are used to capture the spatiotemporal patterns contained in the user connection matrix (24hour × 7day), and the periodic characteristics of user connection hotspots are extracted through fast Fourier transform (FFT). This algorithm has strong classification capabilities, and its second-class F1 accuracy is close to 80%.

Dr. Zhang Guiyu said that the algorithm has been deployed online in the SPARK cluster of WiFi***Key and can complete the scenario classification task of more than 200 million hotspots in half a day.

As an authoritative academic conference on Internet technology with the highest international reputation, the World Wide Web Conference (WWW2017) has been successfully held for 26 sessions. Since 1994, experts and scholars from all over the world have gathered at the WWW Conference, including top scholars and industry elites from internationally renowned universities, research institutions, multinational companies and international standardization organizations, to discuss cutting-edge technologies related to the Internet and continuously promote the development and innovation of Internet technology. The WWW conference in 1998 included Google's classic search engine paper.

This year's conference brought together data scientists and scholars from industry and academia. Well-known industry figures attending the conference included Pinterest top scientist and Stanford University professor Dr. Jure Leskovec, Google senior scientist Dr. Ed Chi, Yahoo Research vice president Dr. Yoelle Maarek, Baidu scientist Dr. Ping Li, and Microsoft deep learning CNTK expert Dr. Sayan Pathak.

Dr. Zhang Guiyu said that LinkSure Network has always emphasized technology-driven development, relying on the big data advantages of WiFi connecting "people and scenes" to explore and research the application value of big data and provide convenient and secure services to 900 million users.
