Yesterday, the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) released the 46th "Statistical Report on the Development of China's Internet". As of June 2020, the number of Internet users in my country reached 940 million, an increase of 36.25 million from March 2020, and the Internet penetration rate reached 67.0%, an increase of 2.5 percentage points from March 2020; the number of rural Internet users in my country was 285 million, accounting for 30.4% of the total number of Internet users, an increase of 30.63 million from March 2020; the number of urban Internet users was 654 million, accounting for 69.6% of the total number of Internet users, an increase of 5.62 million from March 2020.

As of June 2020, the scale of mobile Internet users in my country reached 932 million, an increase of 35.46 million from March 2020. The proportion of Internet users using mobile phones to access the Internet reached 99.2%, basically the same as in March 2020; the proportion of using TV to access the Internet was 28.6%; the proportion of using desktop computers, laptops, and tablets to access the Internet was 37.3%, 31.8%, and 27.5%, respectively.

With the in-depth expansion of network coverage projects, the era of "same network and same speed" in rural and urban areas is coming, providing solid support for network poverty alleviation. As of June 2020, the Internet penetration rate in rural areas was 52.3%, an increase of 6.1 percentage points from March 2020, and the difference in Internet penetration rates between urban and rural areas narrowed by 6.3 percentage points. The pilot program of universal telecommunications services has cumulatively supported the access of optical fiber networks to more than 130,000 administrative villages and the construction of tens of thousands of 4G base stations, of which about one-third of the tasks were deployed in poor villages. The proportion of poor villages with access to optical fiber has increased from less than 70% in 2017 to 98% nationwide, and the proportion of poor villages with access to broadband in deeply impoverished areas has increased from 25% to 98%, exceeding the goal of "broadband network coverage of more than 90% of poor villages" proposed in the "13th Five-Year Plan" ahead of schedule.

As of June 2020, the number of broadband Internet access ports nationwide reached 931 million, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%, and a net increase of 15.66 million compared with the end of 2019. As of July 2020, the number of users with allocated IPv6 addresses in my country has reached 1.442 billion, and the number of active IPv6 users has reached 362 million; the international IPv6 access bandwidth has been opened from scratch to 90Gbps; the top 100 commercial websites and applications in terms of domestic user volume all support IPv6 access. In addition, the total number of ".CN" domain names reached 23.04 million, an increase of 2.8% from the end of 2019, continuing to rank first in the world in terms of the number of national and regional top-level domain names.
