Recently, China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, the three major operators, announced their operating conditions in June 2020. At present, China Mobile has 70.199 million 5G users, China Telecom has 37.84 million 5G users, and China Unicom has not yet announced the number of its 5G users. It is worth noting that the data shows that the number of 5G users in my country has exceeded 100 million.

At present, there are 1.6 billion mobile phone users in my country. Although the number of 5G users has just exceeded 100 million and has not yet accounted for the majority of users, this does not affect the fact that my country has become a 5G power.

Technically, the frequency band of 5G is much higher than that of 2G, 3G and 4G networks, and currently it mainly operates in the 3000-5000MHz frequency band. Since the higher the frequency, the greater the attenuation of the signal during propagation, the base station density of the 5G network will be higher.

In May this year, Miao Wei, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, said that my country adds about 10,000 5G base stations every week. At present, more than 250,000 5G base stations have been built nationwide, 130 5G mobile phones have obtained network access and sales licenses, and the number of 5G terminal connections has exceeded 36 million. It is expected that by the end of this year, my country's 5G base stations will exceed 600,000, covering all cities above the prefecture level in the country.

Operators are the main force in 5G construction. In June last year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially issued 5G commercial licenses to China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Broadcasting Corporation. On October 31 of the same year, the three major operators announced 5G commercial packages and officially launched 5G commercial packages on November 1, marking that China has officially entered the 5G commercial era.

At present, in order to accelerate the popularization of 5G networks, 5G package rates have shown different degrees of discounts. Last year, 5G packages started at more than 100 yuan, and now the entry price has dropped to less than 100 yuan.
