Today, at the Huawei Developer Conference 2020 (Cloud), Huawei announced that it will carry out Kunpeng-related teaching and scientific research cooperation with more than 50 universities, and launch 24 types of Kunpeng-related professional certifications to build a Kunpeng talent center system. At the same time, Huawei announced the support details for start-ups, developers and partners. This will more conveniently provide courses, technology and resource support for the learning and certification of developers and partners, provide prototypes and cloud resource support for development, migration and transplantation, and accelerate the development of the Kunpeng computing industry ecosystem.

Increase investment and continue to cultivate Kunpeng developer talents

To help developers grow quickly on the Kunpeng platform, Huawei matches resources, policies, and activities, and optimizes related processes to create a developer-centric Kunpeng talent development system:

l Cooperate with universities to train developers: Huawei has carried out Kunpeng-related teaching and scientific research cooperation with more than 50 universities, allowing student developers to master development skills based on the Kunpeng platform. At the same time, Huawei also provides internship opportunities for students and organizes a series of developer competitions.

l Launched offline and online learning materials and courses: Developed more than 20 offline teaching and tutoring materials related to Kunpeng, covering cloud computing, big data, Internet of Things, application development and migration, and other aspects; developed more than 200 Kunpeng online courses, such as Huawei Cloud Kunpeng Services and Solutions, Introduction to Big Data and Applications, and Basics of Architecture Design.

l Launched Kunpeng professional certification: 24 types of Kunpeng-related professional certifications were released to guide Kunpeng developers to continuously improve their technical level, involving popular subjects such as Kunpeng, GaussDB database, and AI. Currently, Huawei certification has been recognized by many companies and institutions.

l Launched a support program for Kunpeng developers: developers who join the program will enjoy very favorable learning and testing packages, all developers will have the opportunity to be invited to participate in new product experiences and brand activities, and outstanding developers who participate in various competitions will be given priority for recruitment by Huawei and its partners.

Announcement of the details of the talent support plan for four groups

Last year, Huawei launched the Fertile Soil Plan 2.0, which plans to invest $1.5 billion in five years to promote industry development and develop 5 million ICT developers worldwide. Currently, the number of Huawei Cloud developers has grown to 1.6 million. Today, Huawei announced that it will invest $200 million in 2020 and announced the talent support details for universities, start-ups, developers and partners:

l Support for university teaching and research: We provide RMB 100 million in support to universities, including talent development, cloud resources, and prototype support. At the same time, Huawei has signed a three-year agreement with the Ministry of Education to invest RMB 1 billion to jointly promote talent development.

l Support for start-ups and developers: RMB 100 million in subsidies will be provided to start-ups and individual developers in the form of cloud resources and offline activities. Each start-up company can receive a cloud voucher of up to RMB 750,000.

l Partners: A total of RMB 600 million in support will be provided to partners, including RMB 300 million in one-time R&D subsidy and RMB 300 million in cloud resources.
