MWC19 Shanghai | Ruijie and the operator industry jointly create a 5G world

[[268489]]

Mobile communications, starting with GSM in the 1990s, have evolved to 2G, 3G, 4G and now 5G. In fact, operators have deployed a huge shared wireless network in cities. In 2018, the mobile communications network has reached more than 8 billion users, and more than 1.5 billion new terminals are added each year. It is predicted that by 2020, the public Internet access 5G network will be commercially available on a small scale, and mass-produced 5G mobile phones will be available on the market. By 2021, Internet services based on 5G networks will begin to become popular, and 5G smartphones will be available on a large scale.

5G trials promote technology and industry maturity

The IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group is responsible for organizing and promoting the core technology research and development of 5G in my country, verifying the design of 5G technical solutions, supporting the formulation of international standards, improving the completeness of product functions, and promoting the development of the 5G industry. The test steps are as follows:

Step 1 2015-2016, key technology verification
Step 2 2016-2018, technical solution verification
Step 3 2018-2019, system verification
Step 4 2019-2020, city-scale networking

Forecast of domestic operators’ network construction rhythm

In 2020 and 2021, 5G applications will mainly focus on outdoor macro base stations to meet the needs of some cities or entire city-level applications. Operators' deployment will also first meet the signal coverage, mainly to meet the needs of streets and blocks, mainly including the coverage of some public areas such as airports and railway stations. Comprehensive indoor coverage will have to wait until after 2022.

2018: Complete frequency band allocation

2019: Licenses have been issued, and small-scale commercial use will begin in the second half of the year

2020: Outdoor macro-site scale networking

2021: Indoor small base station scale networking

2022: Comprehensive construction coverage, mainly indoor small base stations

Ruijie Networks will bring visible 5G high-speed experience

Ruijie Networks is about to launch a 5G digital indoor distribution solution that is "extremely scalable and truly roam-free". The key values are as follows:

White box software protocol stack architecture

The RG-5G digital indoor distribution solution adopts a general X86 + FPGA accelerated architecture to implement a full software 5GNR protocol stack, including: L1/L2/L3, which can flexibly evolve to adapt to later uRLLC and other slices and customized protocol stack functions;

Edge computing support

It supports virtualization technology and makes full use of the functions of the server platform. It can flexibly load edge computing (MEC) APPs, such as UPF network elements to realize local data forwarding to form an industry-specific network, such as the positioning engine to realize the integration of communication network and positioning network, such as CDN cache to achieve application bandwidth and latency reduction, etc., to meet the needs of vertical industry applications.

SA Networking Mode

The RG-5G digital indoor distribution solution supports the 3GPP R15 protocol and adopts SA networking. SA networking is the ultimate evolution direction of 5G. Compared with NSA networking, it can give full play to the end-to-end performance advantages of 5G.

June 26-28

Asia's technology industry event "MWC19 Shanghai" will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center

Ruijie Networks will showcase its latest 5G digital indoor products, networking solutions and 5G architecture technologies on site.

Demonstrate 5G application solutions in industries such as industry, transportation, production, and education

Welcome to visit Ruijie Networks booth (N4.F40)

5G is just around the corner, and Ruijie Networks will work with the industry to build a more intelligent and high-speed connected world.
