Huawei releases Smart Campus Solution to weave a better smart life for the future

[Original article from 51CTO.com] There is a saying circulating in Huawei: The campus is everywhere, and everything within the walls is a campus.

"The park is the basic unit of the city. In a city, except for the roads, there are parks. Our daily work and life is to walk from one park to another, which takes up to 22 hours. How to make these 22 hours more exciting and smarter is the challenge we face together." At the Huawei China Ecosystem Partner Conference 2019, Su Baohua, President of Huawei Enterprise BG Smart Park Business Unit, said when releasing the smart park solution: "We clearly see that a trend has arrived, and that is the smart park."

Huawei redefines the campus by jumping with its own parachute

"Smart Park is a new business of Huawei, which is different from previous businesses. The most distinctive feature is that it uses Huawei's own park as a test field, and it uses its own parachute to jump." Su Baohua introduced that Huawei has a variety of park forms, including offices, factories, logistics, apartments, hotels, schools, etc. Two years ago, based on the "platform + ecology" strategy, Huawei's smart park project was launched, giving priority to piloting all Huawei's products and solutions in the park, pushing them to maturity before entering the market.

With the joint efforts of 36 partners, Huawei Smart Park has set a 16-word vision goal: safe and controllable, experience quality inspection, cost-effective, and operational excellence. Today, Huawei is approaching this goal. In 2018, solutions verified by Huawei internally have been successfully implemented and borne fruit in companies such as Vanke Group, Shenzhen Affairs Administration, and Guangdong Power Grid.

51CTO reporter learned that 30 days before this Eco Partner Conference, Huawei and more than 20 partners built a real-time demonstration environment "Smart Island" (Learn about Smart Island) in Fuzhou, which is a real smart park. This "island" contains almost all the intelligent solutions on the market, such as: smart electric police, smart water conservancy, illegal parking capture, 4K ultra-clear situation monitoring, ultra-wide channel face recognition; in the exhibition hall, there are many intelligent application scenarios such as smart shuttles, smart street lights, smart conference rooms, smart retail, and smart perimeters.

In an interview with reporters, Su Baohua said that the original idea of "Smart Island" originated from the smart park. The most critical thing in the smart park is the seamless connection experience, and the core of the experience is "visible and tangible", which is to let everyone enter the real environment to experience and provide every participant with ubiquitous connection and all-encompassing intelligence.

Why was Huawei able to build a smart campus in such a short time? Liu Chao, Vice President of Huawei Enterprise BG China, explained that the deployment of the smart campus is a proven solution that can be replicated on a large scale and can be deployed in a conventional way with partners. Therefore, the construction work was completed in just one week (the solution design was done in the first 20 days). This also proves that the power of the platform is correct!

General Park + Industry Park, "One Warp and One Weft" Weaving a Smart World

According to Su Baohua, based on the core value of "customer-centricity", Huawei divides smart campus solutions into two categories, including "one longitude and one latitude".

"Warp" refers to a general park, which provides capabilities applicable to all parks, including seven scenarios: intelligent operation center, comprehensive security, convenient access, asset management, energy efficiency management, facility management and environmental space, forming a "6+1" solution to achieve visibility, controllability and manageability of business events, aiming to reshape park operations.

"Latitude" refers to industry parks, including the first batch of real estate parks, government parks, smart campuses, and chemical parks, which are designed to help industry customers transform digitally and solve problems in line with the strategies of enterprise users. For example, the government is concerned about safety and efficiency. In response to this demand, Huawei and industry partners jointly create controllable solutions around government parks based on general parks.

"In the future, we will gradually enrich the scenarios. Creating scenario-based, scalable, and competitive solutions is Huawei's mission and pursuit," Su Baohua emphasized.

Focus on the domestic market in 2019 and complete large-scale deployment within five years

Talking about Huawei's development plan for smart parks, Su Baohua revealed: "In 2019, we will focus on the domestic market and plan to set up representative offices in ten provinces in China, starting from Shandong, along the southeast coast and western development, and focus on expansion. For overseas markets, Huawei will empower local partners through OpenLab to realize the implementation of smart parks."

Taking into account the different needs of different provinces in the four industrial parks, Huawei will adopt a "one province, one policy" approach in China to expand the market based on user pain points and actual needs. Taking chemical industrial parks as an example, they are mainly distributed in Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Guangdong.

In an interview with ***, Su Baohua said: "We hope to complete large-scale deployment in China within five years, covering more than 600 cities. We also hope that in the future, it will not only be Huawei that is doing this, and we look forward to more companies joining us to jointly transform the digital world of the Internet of Everything!" He emphasized that partners are crucial to smart parks. In the next three years, the core partners of Huawei's smart parks will increase 20 times to 3,000, and they will work together to bring the digital world into every park and make intelligence within reach!
