Everyone dreams of becoming rich overnight, but when you wake up, you find that you don’t live the life of a “nouveau riche”, but instead have hundreds of thousands of phone bills in arrears. How would you feel? Surprised or shocked?
On the morning of July 26, many netizens on Weibo reported that they had received text messages from China Mobile about overdue payments, ranging from hundreds of thousands to tens of thousands of yuan. The above picture is a screenshot of the text message provided to The Paper by Mr. Yang, a user who was owed money. The picture shows that China Mobile's "10086" informed Mr. Yang at 7:41 on July 26 that "this month, you have spent 16,509.96 yuan, and the total amount owed is 16,434.29 yuan." The text message also reminded that "in order not to affect your communication, we have implemented the 'single suspension for 48 hours' service measure (you can still receive calls within 48 hours from the time of arrears). Please pay as soon as possible." In addition to the above, many Sichuan Mobile users found that their mobile phone numbers were suspended and showed huge arrears. After receiving the suspension SMS, they logged into the China Mobile Mobile Business Hall APP to check the phone bills and found that the amount of arrears was still growing. The staff of the business hall said that there was a problem with the system, and many users had come to consult, and the company was dealing with it. It is reported that China Mobile told the reporter of the Daily Economic News that it had noticed the abnormal billing, but it was not clear how large the abnormal area and the scale of the abnormality were. At 9:59, Sichuan Mobile responded on its official Weibo account, saying, "Due to a temporary malfunction caused by a system upgrade, some customers have abnormal charges. We will restore communication functions for affected customers as soon as possible, and the fee inquiry system will be restored to normal after 24 hours at the latest. Customers will then be able to check accurate communication charges. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to customers." However, some netizens were not satisfied with Sichuan Mobile's apology and called on China Mobile to "refund double the amount of the billing error" and seek compensation. As of press time, China Mobile has not responded to the compensation issue. |
